NI question for you guys....I registered self employed at the end of June. I haven't received any confirmation or anything (don't even know if they bother to send you any confirmation).
However.... what I have received is a lovely £9.60 bill for NI contributions! I have just sent off the form application for exemption form, but my question is, do I pay the bill and get a refund later when I have the exemption certificate or not pay it??0 -

They released me with no loss of points and have allowed me to sign up for another. Doh! I feel ratherabout my stupidity! Still, no harm done it would seem and the one I've accepted for next week I defo know where it is.
For the purposes of working out tax should I include that assignment in my logger even though I know I won't get paid for it?Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I'd like to know this too! I'm in the same boat - just about to send my form off. I wrote in a covering letter that I'd appreciate it if they could let me know if my invoice remained outstanding or if the sum was no longer payable... god knows if they'll get back to me or not!TWBM 2010 Wishlist:

Well in my case I had to purchase a drink, and wait to be upsold to a deal that includes a food item. The deal came in at 51p below the reimbursment.
They expect you to be upsold, and you can't prompt them for the upsell, iirc.0 -

I was in the same situation when I registered as s/e and was told that I did not need to pay the bill. HTH.0 -
hi guys
sorry about posting in the wrong board, it will not happen again..finally learning.
thanks0 -
I don't think they are that expensive, they would never sell any if they were! I'll probably just get a cake as well if they do an RE and only pay what you spend.

Theres no mention of a deal in my details, altho it says that they may try and upsell .
Does anyone know if I will get 'penalised' if I take my DH and get him a drink too, on top of my drink and food to make it up to £x or should he pay himself...!
Sorry for all the questions today guys0 -

For both of you - I had this a couple of months ago and called up to ask.
You don't need to pay the bill. As soon as your exemption form is registered your bill wil be cancelled.
By the time I got round to doing my exemption form, my NI bill was quite late and I was worried they would fine me, but they still said it was ok, because no matter how late it is, if an exemption form comes through, it nulifies any previous unpaid bills.Slowly working towards earning enough money (through various ventures) to live unworriedly, treat my family and sleep under a lovely roof. x0 -
