I've just had my first query from a client apparently saying someone that served me doesn't work there....erm, yes they do!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Hi twinklie,
Have you spoke to RE yesterday about ms'ing the wrong shop? Will they let you do the assignment again?0 -
Maybe I should also see if I can get into Retail Eyes too then if I won't get much from Grass Roots. Are you allowed to join more than one company? Complete novice here (as you may be able to tell!)
Yes, I'm sure nearly all of us are signed up to more than 1 company. Personally I shop for 6 different companies.0 -
I've been offered a supermarket job for GR but I seem to recall seeing moans about those ones on here. What are they like compared to the TNS ones?
I have to make enquiries with 6 members of staff but I am concerned that I will stand out a mile as it is quite a small store:rolleyes: Can I move on to the next department if there are no staff?0 -

I've done one of these jobs. It takes quite a bit longer than you'd probably expect! I enjoyed doing it though, and it is quite a challenge being inconspicuous. I would suggest you definitley only enquire about products you actually want to purchase as it looks really odd if you ask about where a product is and then don't put it in your basket!
I enquired about Childrens Sunglasses in the Clothes dept as I couldn't see any on the shelf and thought it was a reasonable question to ask. The shop assistant couldn't find any either and said they had a delivery coming in overnight so if I rang the next day, they may have some I could pick up. I said thanks and went off to pay for my shopping... as I was paying there was a tannoy announcement:
"Could the lady enquiring about childrens sunglasses please return to the clothes desk?"
I guess they'd found some! I pegged it out of the shop before I was forced into buying some childrens sunglasses too!TWBM 2010 Wishlist:

Unfortunately not, I've been unable to phone them and am unlikely to be able to until lunch time I am currently just waiting to see if they respond to my email. Fingers crossed I don't get in trouble in the meantime.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Like I said before, it takes me about 30 mins to complete the shop but no time at all to write the report. Very few qualitative questions, they want to know if the people stop to help you, they don't then ask for comments about it too. They don't even ask for a summary!
Worth remembering that you only need to approach 2 (3 if there is a clothes section) staff on the floor, the rest are at a counter or checkouts.0 -

I suppose it is better that you can choose a question yourself. With TNS they tell you to ask where the melons are and the only member of staff you can find happens to be standing right next to the melons:D0 -

They do seem tricky, but it's just a quick question and you're off. I pretend to have a shopping list and tick off items but actually what I'm doing is writing down names and descriptions.
If its the same job I've done before it asks if there was a Manager on the floor, if you can't see one, just say no, you don't have to walk round for ages searching one out!
