Strange that most smaller Korean new models have a waiting list, and many now come with longer warranties than other manufacturers, for a lot less outlay.
Nothing wrong with Korean cars.;)
Not strange at all, cheap skates who hate driving buy Korean cars and then drive them badly.
I would rather gnaw my own legs off than drive korean.
Plenty wrong with Korean cars, cheap monkey metal that requires longer warranties.0 -

i got the RAC to come check it, and he said that the clutch is slipping bad, and that he is shocked they sold it that way, and that he recommends i do not drive it anywhere other than to a garage. I called the dealer and told him this, he is gonna get back to me tomorrow, hopefully with an offer to fix it!Live Love Lose Learn :A0

Good! giving the dealer a chance to fix the problem(s) is the first thing to do. As both you and him have to follow guide lines under the SOGA.
If they dont fix it after a few attempts then get in touch with TS or CAB.0 -

I'm not a big fan of Korean cars, especially what were Daewoos (now Chevrolets). However, Hyundai have made great leaps in quality in the past decade. It's not hard to imagine that in another decade they will be as good as Japanese cars we take for granted today.
Remember Japanese cars of the past, they were hardly that great apart from low price and good engines.
ps what does "monkey metal" mean?Hoping this year is better than the last.0 -

You obviously havn't driven a modern Korean car then, they give the longer warranty because of the quality of their vehicles, unlike other makers that do not have the confidence in their products to give similar warranties.
Your last paragraph ( highlighted ) simply doesn't make any sense.0 -

A few attempts? How bad are they? Don't give them even one. Get onto TS, CAB, and the RAC who can advise you on your rights as well. See if you can reject the car. Once you go down the repair route you're stuck with it.0 -
I bought a used car, daewoo kalos, 04 reg, 23,000 miles on clock. it passed it's MOT the day I collected it. MOT nothing to do with clutch
I have had it 4 days, and I have had big problems trying to get the bite on the clutch, other family members who have been driving 20+ years noticed the clutch wasn't right soon as they started driving, clutch is burning out n slipping, it's extremely hard to hold the bite at a junction, and i have been stallling loads! I never have this problem with other cars, it is driveable...... but I am a new driver and am struggling to get used to it.. a mechanic family friend reckons that the clutch is almost worn out.
Also, the hazard lights keep coming on by themselves! is the car afraid? and the inside light doesn't work. Have you checked the switch, bulb and fuse
I realise that a used car will have ware and tear, but it's only an 04 reg, and only done 23,000 miles, surely this is something that should be sorted by the dealership as it is not expected ware and tear for a car with so few miles??
I got the car on finance from black horse, if that makes any difference.
I'm hoping I can just take this car back and get another one, as I have lost confidence in it...errr no
Does anybody have any advice?take the mechanic friend next time you buy a car

Do not try to reject the car. You have to give the dealer a chance to rectify the problem first.0 -

I have driven a a modern Korean car, I had the misfortune of getting one whilst mine was in having some work.
Bland, unresponsive, dull and made from monkey metal I wouldnt have had it given, they still have a long way to go to catch the Japanese, I also had a little Mitsubishi Colt as a courtesy car and that was a hoot to drive.0
