Laptop shouldn't go in the bin... it's classified as hazardous waste (give me the make and model and I can probably tell you what's in it!). I keep my electronic waste (batteries, CFL bulbs, phone chargers etc) in a box in the garage and take it to the tip when I'm going past/going there for another reason. Think of your grandchildren, and how much they'll resent you for poisoning the groundwater and wasting precious resources (they're fighting wars over coltan...)

As my garage is now my bedroom, and I'm trying to declutter, I've taken it out of there. My one laptop in one household bin in over 50 years ain't going to make much difference to the global environmental issues so there :p

Shed??? You need to lead by example...

Is the laptop dead dead, or could it be given a shiny new data-free HD and be useful to a charity or someone else who could use it?

Blimus - are you in Norfolk? If so, which bit? (i'm in hampshire BTW, but my parents are in Norfolk and I grew up there... )

Evening everyone, I've given up with flying at the moment. What little I do seems to knock me back and takes me a while to recover. I am aiming to do level 1 at the moment and see where I go from there. I may do all the levels I may not,but I am not going to beat myself up if I don't do it, which is what I am doing at the moment.

I've also got a poorly cat - lodger cat hasn't been looking too well for a few days and hasn't eaten for a couple of days either. I've resorted to force feeding him catfood mashed down with some gravy and fed through a syringe..ugh never again as I have the scratches to prove it, and yes I did wrap him up in a towel and stick him on my lap..but the little wotsit got his paws out and ran away. Although I did manage to get about 4 small syringe full of food down his throat, so that is something. Anyway I am taking him up the vets tomorrow to put my mind at rest, so it's an early start to ring them at 8am and get an am appt. Feel awful though as he is in my care and now he is sick..have to tell my mate tomorrow on the phone..not looking forward to that at all. I am just hoping that it is one of two things, the heat that he is objecting too or the addition of lodger dog since Friday of last week. Hopefully it is one of these and nothing serious, fingers crossed!!

Now going to wash my hair and have an early night with my library books :) Will catch up with all the thread tomorrow inbetween vet visits :)

Hugs to all the poorlies, hope you all get better soon.

Enough! I have no shed. I will not put a new HD in it. I have made up my mind it is going and it has gone! It has been cluttering up the end of my bed for the last year doing nothing. I needed rid of it so it has been got rid of. I did get a little bit of sentimetal joy out of it when I went through the stuff on there and copied some photos I'd forgotten were around onto another media. But the subject is now closed before you get anywhere near making me feel guilty :p
