Oh my, I am so excited! I was just checking my emails and I had one in response to an advert I'd replied to on gumtree about a flat that's for rent. I was a bit dubious about it, as the rent was so low, in fact it's what you normally pay round here to rent one room - it's £100 lower than we are paying now for our bedsit! So I was thinking maybe it's a flat share or something, as the ad had very little info.

It turns out, it's a man going abroad for work for 6 or 7 years and he just wants someone to live there and look after it. He's sent pictures and it's absolutely gorgeous!!! I've phoned DH and he just said: "where is it?" and that he thought it sounded ok. I'm over the moon! I've emailed back to ask where exactly it is (the ad just says Guildford but that's a big place, we would prefer it to be over this side of the town if poss so it's not to far to where all DH's jobs are) and that we are interested if the location is right.

It sounds too good to be true, altho I'm excited, I'm not really expecting it to come to anything but I really really hope it does!

    Hi everyone,

I have just had my first ever supermarket delivery. Cupboards are full, meat to be collected from local shops tomorrow. Tonights dinner is sausage casserole and mash and I forgot to buy potatoes!!
I hope the flat you have heard about is in the best area for you rosepink.

Oops .. pigpen... sugar in the bed!!! I am like the princess and the pea, a grain of sugar will drive me batty! I hope it isn't in the bed!!

I would leave it to the evening to give those who don't sit at a computer all day a chance. That is me with my freecycle moderator hat on. Sometimes I give it to the first person just to make it easy!

I forgot, flying, about to sweep kitchen floor. Maybe mop it if I feel like it. I have 2million black currants to de-stalk. How is it spelt, stalk or stork?

    :bdaycake:Happy birthday SSL!!:bdaycake:

My DS1 is 19 today as well!

    Great news rosepink!

soappie - my neighbour popped round with a little thank you for collecting her prescription - she was really unwell on Friday, but is well enough to go out today, so it does seem to go quite quickly. Her mother has it now, but is not as unwell as she was. I hope that you are feeling better soon.

I've done an hour on the allotment, but little else, as all the teens are in the livingroom - I may leave it until tomorrow.

Not sure if we're going out this afternoon, but we're going to an Indian restaurant tonight.

Oh, and I booked the gite this morning, so we're off to Burgundy for a week on the 15th!!:j
