Toots - so pleased to see you back. You may have noticed that we missed you. Please concentrate on getting well again. Interview was for a job I think I might want... we'll see if/when it comes to decision time!
Gingergirl - so sorry to hear about your friend. Well done on being there to support her - as AnW's mum says, being there is what counts.
Dusty - I am going to be up in your direction tomorrow, but as the friend I'm going with wants a lift from Slough and back, I don't think it's the best time to drop in on you! I plan on going back up to Norfolk soon, so hopefully I'll be passing when your in... once the job stuff is sorted (as in knowing what's happening with the current job!) I'll be able to plan a bit better!
Haven't managed much more flying... walked to the shop, got the washing in, sat in the garden, had supper, watched a DVD... that's about it! I'm just going to get the shower curtain out of the WM and rehang it, and then I think I'll have another early night - I do lead such an exciting life!0 -

PC updates are finished, another load of washing is in the machine ready to hang out tomorrow, fruit and veg has been put away and the dirty dishes from supper are done. I'll clear up the pots & pans tomorrow when I deal with the leftovers... but generally downstairs is OK, and with a hoover, mop, dust and clean of the kitchen table will be OK.
I'll strip the bed first thing and put the bedding in to wash, hopefully get most of the rest of it done before I go, so that when I get back I can (assuming it hasn't rained!) mow the grass, spend a bit of time in the garden and then just have to make my bed!
Night all... see you tomorrow!0 -
Ginger - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. As AnW says, just being there is an amazing thing to do. Also agree about not saying you understand or know how they feel - you don't need to say anything just listen and support, offer to do routine things that need doing but seem so unimportant and mundane. Huge hugs xxAt the moment.. £300 security deposit for the flat but other than that I'm not certain yet.. think a tv may be needed gf is a telly-addict!

Well.. certainly not this planet.. fortunately the staff from the assessment centre where they are now is backing them. The worst part is GF is incapable of anything but crying at the moment, they are meant to be back onwednesday and have no idea where they will be coming to, nothing sorted financially, and noone is able to get in touch with the stupid SW.. When they get back there is a complaint going in about her, she has caused more trouble than enough and we are off to see a solicitor about it all.. and requesting that if they insist a SW stays in touch with them it is someone else other than this hideous woman.. without children or humanity!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Have been awake since 1:45 and up since 2:45 so I've caught up on the thread, sorted through a box, deleted loads of e-mails, done some paid work, can't do anything in the RofDs as both adjoin our bedroom where OH is soundly asleep. I can't decide whether to carry on sorting out the filing cabinet in the garage to bring it inside later or to go back to bed to try to get some sleep or to continue with paid work all of which have their own attractions.
Ginger Girl - sorry to hear about your friend xxDon't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli
