Johanne. when I did my claim in March they told me £15 and my paperwork states £15 as well.. wonder why the difference.. not that it makes much difference £5 is barely enough for one meal in here! I don't get a bean from kn0bhead either.. though CSA said if the were to pay anything I would only get £10 a week more than I do now.. regardless of how much they took off him.. Once I get to uni though.. I'll get it all.. not that he will pay anything still.
How bizarre is that???? I only claimed in april and having just got my paperwork out to triple check it deffo says £20 each for both earnings and matinence!
System is madness isnt it?! Sooner i get a job the better! Getting fed up with all the red tape of it all. Spent last 5 months looking and applying for something though and so far had no luck!! :rolleyes:0 -

dolly I meant to say, very sound advice from dusty and dusty actually I think gas fired agas are more efficient/less CO2 produced for the energy output, and so your boots are less hobnailed, and your halo shinier than mine!!!!!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
thanks Johanne.
It just gets so confusing.
DH hasn't given any money except the first week. i know his jobs are of and on (never quite know with him anyway.
He says he wants to pay for the holiday for them (he could pay it directly to the travel agent) not sure if this will work out any as he says at lot of things
Anyway my bedroom is looking lots better. I can move in it now.
Greenbee- Maybe starting on the bedroom isn't so easy but at least if you can make a start. Problem when you decide to do something then stop if things get in the way.January Grocery 11/3740 -

gratefulforhelp wrote: »Thanks for the Laura Ashley suggestion (can't rmember who, sorry.) their website is a bit pants for actual upholstery fabric, though.
Marks and Spencer do upholstery fabric but it's just not very clear on their website. The best thing to do is to go in to a store where they do furniture and look at the swatches. It's not cheap though...there's three levels of fabric, A, B, or C. The 'A' fabric is the cheapest at about £25 or £30 per metre. (can you tell I work there on the furniture dept). I could probably get you a few swatches and send them to you if you know what shade you're looking for.
Dolly....I had negative results with both DD1 and DD2. I had to be 2 weeks late for it to show up.
Flyingwise I have hung the washing out and tidied the kitchen. Not that much by all accounts!0 -
Sat down for a cuppa, just cleaned the oven..... OH MY GOOD GOD.... gross gross gross gross gross....EWWWWWWWWWW
I now have a sparkling oven WOW! I've also just put on a tomato soup, so that should be ready to blend up in a bit. DH is back from station, they want to come talk to me and see if they can any victim suport...errrr, no actually, you never bothered when he(ex) beat me up but now he threatens me you want to help? GRRRRR Anyhow, Im going to drink my cuppa and go do the woodwork in DS's room....should be fun!0 -

Either of them are probably better than using electricity from a coal-fired powerstation, as conversion & transmission are very wasteful. If you use them efficiently (as Dusty clearly does, and I'm sure you do), they probably don't have as bad an impact as some people make out!
Aga users frequently don't turn heating on until later in the year than other people, as the kitchen and adjoining rooms are warmed by it.
I suspect Dusty's gas bill is probably significantly lower than that of some people who don't have agas...
I should probably head off to the farm shop... just going to update my list first!0 -
