That's all very well and good... but the difference between the weather down South and up North is not that huge. The whole of the UK has pretty rubbish weather.0 -

I'm originally from Newcastle, great place, but no way would I ever move back up to the North, I don't care how much cheaper the property is. The winters are definitely colder and the summers/spring are definitely shorter.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

True, but only some like it hot
True but it isn't the heat that I am pleased to get away from, it's the cold. In fact I can see us spending 4-6 months a year in Spain in a few years time.
If it wasn't for the longer drive (as we have a dog it only only works driving not flying) I would then consider moving back North, but we will probably move from Surrey to Devon (easy access to the Spain ferry from Plymouth). Can't wait to be winter free.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0
