I lived in London for 12 years ,it's a dump.
I'd rather live up north any day.0 -
Very interesting. Thank you. I now know what a ned is.0

Moved South in 1975. Took my kids back to my neck o' t' woods (a nice bit between Lancs & Yorks dales) a few years back. All they could say was Grey Grey Grey -
houses are grey (stone), sheep are grey ('urdwicks) walls are grey (dry stone walls), sky's grey ( raining or about to) - don't think they'll be going back.0 -
I moved to Newcastle as I married a non drinking, football hating Geordie.
Something you don't see very often.
It's a lovely city and we have wonderful coastline and countryside so close in every direction.
There's everything we could want and house prices are fantastic.
I could never move back down south.
The only time I'll venture near London is when I visit my family in Windsor and Virginia Waters.
That's as close as I get.0 -
I LOVE London, wouldn't live anywhere else. Yes, some parts are grim, but some are great, like in every city. To each their own.0

Born and bred North, lived North, South and London. Only place I wouldn't live again is London. Happy down south for now, if circumstances ever change then would consider the North again. But until they do, it's all a fuss about nothing. Very few places in this country lack any redeeming features. Well Burnley and Dustable aside I guess0

Totally agree with you.
There are some lovely places down south (except for London).
I have a daughter who married a southerner she's lived down on the south coast for years and she loves it.
What annoys me is the attitude which has been displayed on the board that Northerners are somehow inferior to the southerners.
It may not have been said but it comes across.
Having lived up in Newcastle for so long I can assure that that's not the case.
They are'nt all unemployed and football mad.
You get that wherever you go in any case.0 -
