It has been my experience in every store I have shopped in that they say that particular store must stock the item in order to use the coupon. I used to shop at 2 different Express stores (about a mile apart from each other) and each one had some of the same products as well as different products. Example: store A stocked Compeed Blister Patches while store B did not. I was not allowed to use the Compeed coupon in store B as they themselves did not stock the product. I have also had the same experience in the bigger stores. So I only ever use coupons for products that are actually stocked in the store I'm shopping in. This question has been asked in the past so I asked a couple of my friendly checkout supervisors and I was told "the store itself has to stock the product not Tesco as a whole".
Mad agrees, I'm sure Coupon-Mad will give us a definitive answer as the coupons go to different places depending on the stores' size or summfing like that

  • Thanks Sher. That's two replies so far - one says it's OK, one says it's not OK!

hi all, can anyone tell me if you can use the daily mail coupons from last sunday in tescos even if you dont buy the stuff.

for instance i will use the £5 of £25 on uniform but what about the £3 off on a £15 spend on lunch boxes
and £2 off when you spend £8 on stationary

have to ask, would be gutted if i could use them on anything

like my mum says "dont ask, dont get";);););)
  • WOW!!!

    I am jumping for joy!!!

Just got off the phone. My T's were saying no to internet mocs without buying product. It's a long long story, which I won't go into, but I've provided email proof from Customer Services Manager, Dundee that there has been no change in policy and it's done the trick. Back to normal! I am so relieved. Must celebrate tomorrow with one or two luxary purchases!
The thought of going back to spending £100 a week on feeding my family was not easy to contemplate.
It makes me realise how lucky we are to know how T's work. I'm not going to take it for granted!

    Hi Mrs A
You need to buy the stuff.
I'll be buying £25 worth of clothes for £20 (£5 off Mail voucher). I'll buy them as well as loads of food, so the receipt will have lots on it. Unfortunately, the clothes won't fit and will have to be returned.icon12.gif
Refund will be £25, not £20. They'll let me keep my clubcard points too!

it does state on the coupon footwear doesnt it, i still have mine so just looked, i would go back and ask to speak to a manager about this, as its slightly false isnt it if it says footwear and yet they say its not!

and always worth a call to head office, oh and take back the clothes and get a refund until its all sorted.

cs can do something, they could just take the £5 off for you, i know because they did it for me last week, they obviously cant be bothered
