No wins in 2 years - what am I doing wrong?

I've entered around 30-50 competitions a week since September 2007, when I split with my ex-H.

I enter all the GMTV / Loose Women / Real Deal ones as well as for books / kids things, so not only cash ones.

I've never ever one a single thing - not a bean. I've even entered the Mars Football / Pepsi ones and still nothing.

I always tick the box for "no further email / post" - would that be why? I just don't want to be inundated with junk emails.

What are your tips? I reckoned 30-50 a week would have won me something?! I only enter competitions that I'd want to win something rather than enter every single one.

Am getting so fed fed up - and sooooooo jealous of you guys that win loads.

Any tips please?!

most people will say to you 30/50 comps a week is nowt compaired to 100+aday most of us do,aits just a luck of the draw the more you enter the better the chances,dont give up hope you will win soon gooddluck x

Well you have gotta be in it to win it. I enter around 1000 a week, and many others enter lots more!

The big comps have many more entries, thus making it less likely to win - I enter only things I want or family would like and would say on average I am winning a prize a week, sometimes they come in dribs and drabs then lots at once.

I have won some fab prizes, cash to books and lots of bits in between. Its a hobby that I enjoy, I spend 2-3 hours a day on it and use a form filler as its quicker!

Yeah, I have to say that I am entering about 100 a day and am barely winning anything, so 30-50 a week probably isn't going to come up with anything much unless you are incredibly lucky. I would up the ante, if you can, and see if that proves fruitful. Good luck!

Im not one of those who wins tons but I've had my fair share, however I do at least 150 comps a week so I fhink its just a matter of cranking up your entries, and do some of the less popular ones. Check the amount of thanks to see which ones they are.

I agree with most of the others, I do 100+ comps a day and so far have only won small prizes - although very gratefully received and there is still a huge buzz from winning!

I always make sure I enter the ones with lots of small prizes as well as ones with one big prize.

Its up to you, but if you are only entering that many a week, you will wait longer for a prize but like you said, you only enter the ones you really want, so will still be a great win for you!

I'm afraid you will have to go for quantity, not quality. I used to do every single comp that was on this forum - and was getting stuff through the door nearly every day. I now only do a few when I get round to it. Winnings have now dropped off considerably.

Wow - a 1000 a week - 2-3 hours a day!!

I work full time and am a single mum with really slow broadband, so wouldn't be able to get that done lol!!

Stupid question, but what's a form filler?

Its where you click a button and most of the form is filled in for you i think a lot of us use roboform it is a lot easier and not so draining as filling your details in all the time

I have entered around 50000 comps in the past year and I've never won anything with a value of over £500.
I have won around 5 prizes £100-£500 and maybe a hundred small prizes some only worth a few quid.
I am happy with my lot because I only enter for fun but I think to stand a SERIOUS chance of a big win or regular small wins you really need to be entering 100+ comps a day.
TBH, I have had many days recently when I frankly couldn't be bothered and my win rate has dropped considerably :rotfl:

I know that feeling! Trying to fight it, but not sure...!

I enter around 150ish per day, most days. I've stopped doing DVD comps now (tho I have won some) as it means I'm spending less time comping and more time with my family (I'm also studying now and find I've just not got the time and I need to be more selective)
I don't have a form filler, I use Google Chrome and it sort of auto-fills for me, so I don't have to type in my email addy etc.
I've had some great wins, but my OH enters around 40-50 per week (if it's one entry per person) and he's not won anything yet - you've got to be in it to win it as they say.
