I always tick the No Emails/Post/Contact but have still been lucky to win a few things.

I think everyone that enters a competition goes into a big anonymous computer hat and the winner is randomly picked out.

To increase your chances you must

Enter as many competitions as possible
Target competitions that fewer people go in for
Target competitions that have more than 1 prize ie 10 pairs sunglasses
Simplify entry by finding out how to use autofill/roboform

As for the biggies like Real Deal I always enter but to be honest you would have to be extremely lucky to win it. Nearly all of us haven't won it.

There are lots more sits out there promoting competitions too these days so there are probably 5 or 10 times more entries to each competition on here than it says on the thanks button or the views (thus reducing the odds of winning), but you've gotta be in it to win it, download a free version of Roboform and get cracking!

    Good luck! :D

Oh dear. I do hope you win something soon.

Just out of interest, does anybody think that there is something in the point made about not subscribing to news etc. having an effect on whether your entry is chosen?

I enter a similar number of comps as you do OP (100 to 150 per month). Obviously, the more you enter, the more you up your chances of winning. However, in my case, I just don't have the time to do any more - I work full time, I'm also doing a full time foundation degree (but on a part time basis so do it around work) and have 3 kids. I don't use any automatic form fillers either.

Despite entering relatively few comps in comparison to others, I won over £3k of prizes last year and am hopefully going to top that this year. All of the comps I have won have had multiple winners and these are the comps I specifically look for.

    Hope you win something soon

Yeah, I do. But that's maybe because I'm always dead suspicious.

I only enter about 30-40 a day and the only things I have won this year were a DVD, a couple of Galaxy books and a Peroni Laptop bag, and a few other minor things. I think you just have to keep entering, get yourself a free email address for your comping so that a bit of spam does not matter, get the free sim card and free credit deals and use that for the text ones. Above all KEEP TRYING.

About 18 months ago I had a major win off a radio station, a collection of smaller items worth about £2000, and ended up in the local paper. When people recognised me they often said they never won anything, I then asked them what they had entered and a common reply was "I don't bother cos I never win anyway"!

IF YOU AINT IN IT YOU CANT WIN IT!

I agree with most of the comments, it is a numbers game, The more competitions you enter the more likely you are to have a win. The high value prizes (ITV, cash, holidays), etc can attract many thousands of entrants and the chances of winning are slim, but if you have entered you have a chance.
It's definately worth entering the comps with lots of runners up prizes and maybe checking your local papers for competions in your area.
Keep going and I am sure a win is on its way.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A

I enter as many as I have time to do as well as only something I'd use or could pass on to family/friends. Some months I do really well and others nada. It makes the wait each day for the postie exciting rather than bills bills bills!

Hope you get lucky, maybe you'll get a biggy to make up for the drought!
