enough codes for now please!!! and by the way, what are the rules now? is it 50/50? what does buying the codes mean? thanks

    :hello:amyjane,

Not sure what buying the codes involves but I always split winnings 50/50 anyway to be fair.

Most people agree to share winnings 50/50. Whoever mentioned buying was not being serious just a little sarcastic at McVities.

There's something that's been confusing me about this you can only win one minor and one major prize malarky.

If you've already won £50 but you go on to try for a bigger prize and you win another £50 but you can't claim it and it's allocated to the next person, well, this next person will have got a loser notification and think oh well, never mind, bin the empty pack and don't read the e-mail saying they have won until a while later (because it's gone in the junk mail) but by then the pack is well and truly gone.

Does that then mean that they can't claim their £50? If so what will happen the the £50? And does it also mean that they themselves then can't go on to win an instant £50 as they've already won one, albeit one that they can't claim for?

And, what if some people have been doing this bonking but arn't aware of the rule change, they could have won £100 but then think they've won £1,000. Can they chose which prize to claim for? Or is it automatically the £100 that's allocated.

What if, you win £100 then £1,000 but your winning wrapper for £100 goes missing or you've mistyped the code (it happens :D ), does that mean you still have to forfeit the £1,000?

Can they really send out e-mails saying you've won by default a day or so after or should they be waiting until the 28 days is up because, same reasons, missing packets, mistyped codes etc. If they are waiting the full 28 days then the packet will have been long gone.

Has anybody even had one of these default win e-mails?

Does anybody have a clue what is going on?

    Dooby - in a word . . . . NO!

This seems to be the biggest c0ck up ever in a competition & I've only been entering online since last year. McVities don't know what's going on - I still haven't had a phone call back & the Promotions Team don't have a clue either.

They're changing the rules, not explaining properly what happens in the above event and pretty much making it up as they go along.

I'm only glad that We won ours at the start of the comp & haven't got to worry too much about it now. I do have cousins that have said I can enter for them in my codes for a share, but I'll do it as & when I can be bothered. It seems to have become a competition I don't want to spend too much time on now.

Good luck to all the others & hope you're all winning - I'll be popping in & out to keep up with you all - there are some lovely people in this thread, as there were in Pepsi, Magnum & BigSnap, so lots of lucky dust to you all!

TBH i really dont think they knpw what they are doing, they havent got a clue!!
i think its disgusting how they can "change" the rules when weve all bought shed loads of buiscuits that they are trying to say we cant claim if we win...
they are not running the competition fairly we were all duped into thinking we had a chance to win daily....
mr mcvitie stick ur buiscuits up your AR**

    Thanks for your replies.

Well, it seems to me that they are going to be p1ssing a hell of a lot of people off. I don't mean us compy type people, I mean for example your everyday wife/mother/student/gran/dad/mum/uncle who thinks he or she's won a few hundred quid only to be told she can't actually have it because of some rule they made up once the comp started.

Imagine thinking you'd lost then getting an e-mail a while later saying there's been a mistake and you've won £500, you'd be chuffed to bloody bits, then you find out that because you've binned the wrapper, as you do with rubbish, they won't pay out, you'd be bloody furious and quite rightly so.
