Anyone used Premier Property Lawyers?

They may be cheap from a vendors viewpoint but are completely inefficient from a purchasers viewpoint .My solicitor asked them many of the usual questions about ground rent etc three weeks ago and despite many reminders they fail to respond. No one there takes ownership of a case.I am told by another solicitor friend that many London solicitors increase their charges to their clients if they know that this company is involved0

We were selling our house to over-seas "cash" buyers, both parties were using Premier Property Lawyers as recommended by the Agent. We completed and uploaded all the paperwork to their site within a week of accepting the offer. As the weeks and months passed repeatedly the other sides solicitor (also PPL) was requesting the same information from us, which we had uploaded at the beginning of the process. Eventually we received a call from our solicitor to say that "we would be Exchanging tomorrow". When we called her two days later, she had gone on a fortnights holiday and we hadn't Exchanged. The whole Sale stalled and finally fell through when the other side dropped out citing financial reasons, nearly 3 months after the original offer was accepted. Due diligence was not exercised by PPL (one both sides) and we missed out on re-marketing our property during the months of April, May and June. USE WITH CAUTION.0

Using them at the moment - oh what a mistake. I am basically being told one thing and then when I query if that is correct they act as if I am the one that has misunderstood and they tell me something completely different. They have almost made the transaction fall through a couple of times and I highly recommend avoiding them at all costs. I dont think they can even write a basic letter!0

I'm also using these at the moment, and the whole process has been a nightmare.. The sale of my 2 bed investment flat is now in week 21, I bought the property last year and completed in 3 weeks, this company seems to be dragging their heels and lack any sense of professionalism or urgency. There's no onward chain, as the flat is being bought by another investor, so I fail to see why its taking so long. Premier Property Lawyers staff are also horrid to deal with, I've had to pull them up several times because they speak over you, and seem to have an attitude.. I've had to remind them several times that they work for me.. I'll not use these again, I only used them as the estate agent (Intercounty Chelmsford) suggested them, I assumed that as they were sold to me as "Intercounty Conveyancing" I thought the process would be dealt with in a timely manner.. How wrong was I..0

In my experience, totally inept. Their lack of response and progression of basic requests in a timely manner has caused a lot of stress and the chain to collapse. You pay for what you get, but the pot luck of getting someone competent from PPL means best use a local property solicitors.0

I have never posted a review of anything, but in this case feel compelled. I would not recommend PPL to anyone. Similar experience to other posters in that it was difficult to get hold of our lawyer, we had to follow up numerous times to get them to do things (despite having a very tight timeframe in which we could move) and they did not in any way drive the process. Really just acted as an inefficient post box. They were generally unhelpful in answering any questions and the response when asking for reasonable amendments to our leasehold agreement was that this was “standard” wording.
On top of all this, it seemed that they genuinely did not read the documents that they provided for us to sign. They did not pick up when the Seller’s solicitors sent over lease/sale agreements with the wrong names, addresses and lease term. I’m really not sure what you are paying them to do if they don’t catch basic things like that. I am a solicitor myself (with no conveyancing experience) and if I had not been checking/questioning their work I would be extremely worried about the documents that we would have ended up signing.0 -
DO NOT USE THEM,
My father in law is having loads of problems with them.
1.The case worker has changed at least once.
2.The information their staff give you contradicts the information from the solicitor there, to the point where one of them must have been lying to us.
3. It has taken over three months for the purchase to go through and we are still waiting for completion as of 8th September 2013. He has had to complete his sale and move in with us until his purchase goes through.
4.He has unfortunately paid upfront and they are no longer interested in pushing for completion.
This firm should be avoided at all costs. Use a local firm that may charge more but has the interests of the customer first.0 -
I m using them now as i m trying to sell my property and i now know NOT TO USE THEM EVER AGAIN.
The conveyancer never calls or i cant be put through to talk to her and it is receptionists taking notes and passing on messages.
The people taking messages when asked a simple question answer exactly like that: (this is real by the way) "Do you know roughly how long ***will be on the phone as i cant receive calls being in a meeting for the next 5 hours"
the responce was "Use your common sense, how will i know when she gets off the phone?"
If you are happy with receiveing attitutde like this when you are paying them...i will not be using them again..nor me nor my family.
THe latest calamity of theirs was that they sent the wrong paperwork to the buyers solicitors......they only have to do one thing and one thing only and they $%^&* it up.
Do yourselves a favour and never ever ever use them.0 -
I was directed to this conveyancing firm via my agent when purchasing a property.
The service is so poor that they may actually cause my purchase to fall thru.
They do NOT respond to queries via email, they're premium 50p/min call centre 0845 number will leave you on hold for a minimum of 5min, and if you eventually do get thru to someone (usually you do not) they are simply trying to get you off the phone, not progress your case. You can hear in the background it is a very busy callcentre.
The online document exchange system would be great if they applied the staff to it.
(3 requests via email 0 replies, 4 call attempts and connected 1 time)0
