  • If they have cut the price to the bone are they still likely to change this for free, I wonder?

If its a safety concern, then they will change it.

Cool, maybe they can claim it back off Ford if it's during the warranty period...

Yeah, its probably one of those things thats inbetween a concern and a recall, so just change them when asked to. The Ka has been recalled before around 2002 due to a rear brake problem.

The Ka is a great little car and good value - but DO check the front sills for rust even on a brand new Ka. We didn't and the rust broke through within the first twelve months. And Ford did not sort it despite our efforts to get them to. So we px'd the car . . . after three years.

It doesn't affect all Ka's. But beware of this.
    Where now?

When I went to claim our 20,000 nectar points from our local Ford dealer I took the chance to talk to them about the £4996 KAs. He said they have already hit their target for car sales, no way they could come anywhere near that price, and that it's a great price for a brand new Ka ;)

I took along a printout of this page: http://www.insuresupermarket.com/newcars/NewCarsResults.asp?QueryID=4920162&carspecific=1&preReg=1&p=&CarMake=18&CarModel=203&CarTrim=0&FuelType=0&EngineSize=0&Transmission=0&CarBody=0&NumDoors=0&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=5,000&PreReginclude=1&x=&y=

I just got the car of my dreams brand new for more than £2000 off the usual price, with a years AA and 6 months tax.

Seems to be some sort of Ford Bonanza - if they sell enough off them by the end of the month they get a bonus.

Just put in a search for Ford Ka, price less than 5000 into any of Martin's recommended sites for car buying searches to find a dealer with the offer.

    Best of luck

This seems a wild goose chase as I can find no dealer offering this deal with
free AA cover and 6 months tax.

    Any more clues?
