    Hi everyone

I got the same deal about 6 months ago. It was advertised in the newspaper and another ford dealer matched the deal. Fantastic little car especially for the price

I disagree strongly with this post. Depreciation or not, i'd NEVER buy (or even be given for free) a Citroen or a renault, they are a complete waste of time. completely unreliable, rust buckets. Unless you can afford the likes of a Honda, or maybe Toyota you'd be much better off with a ford.....

Currently driving a Citroen ZX, '93 vintage, and the only rust so far is a small spot at the base of the driver's door.
And it's failed to start once in the 9 years I've owned it, though it rattles a bit nowadays. But then, so do I.

So if someone offered you a brand new Renault or Citroen you would turn it down. I think not.

I've had almost every make of car and the only one I wouldn't have again is a Rover, unless it was free!!

My favourite was my Vauxhall Chevette. Well I was 18 and it was lemon and gorgeous!!!

I quite fancied a Ka a few months ago as I think from outside they look lie a pear shaped women with the flared bits being the hips, but after test driving it I found it too cramped, basic and horrid (you know like girls do they either love or hate a car for no reason;) ). I still think though for under £5k they are a good first car.

Renault I would agree do have lots of reliability issues with their cars, just have a look at the Parkers forums for proof !

Citroens are great cars and do not rust as many of the panels are made of plastic or aluminium, such as the ZX. I have had two ZX's in the past and one was a company car. Am getting rid of my Audi A4 this year to buy a Citroen C4 which has so far proved to be a very reliable car, and has won many awards including Top Gear car of the year.

I would say that a lot of girls where I work have a Ford KA, so the word must get around that they are good little cars. The girls are not bad looking either :D

In the press yesterday my local Ford dealers were advertising the same deal on KA's £4995 for basic model and £5695 for one with power steering.
    Poppy,

the one I bought was 4996 with power steering - it was the basic model.

My previous car was a renault laguna, had it for 9 years, never failed to start, totally reliable and only one teeny tiny rust spot on it when I sold it for £500.

No mention of it on first link.
