Why don't people use capital letters in their name and adress?

Don't bother correcting it (postcode excepted)... unless their name is Keith as they get funny about that sort of thing.0

It's a Paypal problem mainly. I think the people who signed up originally were on dial up accounts so time was money and shortcuts in order.
Now you cannot change your name in PayPal, even if you get married it is a big palaver, so that is why I, like many others, have little letters instead of Big Initials.0 -
Maybe if you were writing a book, not an address label.
I seriously doubt that anybody cares if there are capital letters or not, just as long as it is legible for the postman to read.
Just for reference here is the guide from Royal Mail on how to address your mail!

Out of interest how many of you have been addressing your labels incorrectly now?
There are lots of people who care about the declining standards of spelling and grammar in this country, some of them in this thread!
For me, it doesn't matter if it's an address label, birthday card or note from my OH - the vast majorty of people know that names of people and places have an uppercase letter at the front and so should write them as such.0 -

Should there be a space in GrammarGirl?0 -

Should there be a space in GrammarGirl?
No, but there should be an uppercase L on 'liam'.
Ok, my sniping in this thread is done - I admit it's pointless getting into arguments about spelling and grammar on the net, as many people prefer a more relaxed style online.0 -

If you find that 'priceless', I suggest you find an alternative means of entertainment.
I think they just care about the declining standards of spelling and grammar in this country, some of them in this thread! Because it shouldn't really matter if its an address label or a posting in a forum. People shouldn't really make spelling mistakes. I have an excuse for my mistakes. I am just plain lazy and have better things to do. If the forum had a spell check it would improve things although posts would have odd words in.0
