LOL, Doh! A spelling mistake - my keyboard cannot keep up with my typing!! But if someone had a spelling mistake in their address I would never know anyway so that doesn't count.
I am glad it is not just me though. I hate the way people use tx for thanks and u for you, I have to read several times to make sure I have the correct meaning. Drives me up the wall.0 -
Thanks for letting me know how to make the changes with the shift key, I'll give that a try in a few days when I sell some more stuff. I bet everyone has gone off to change their names and addresses now, ha ha!!!0

Wouldn't be easy for eBay/Paypal just to make all such details automatically uppercased once a customer has entered the details?
Also I think that there is a way to make text all uppercase just by highlighting it and using some keyboard commands (not that I remember what the code is)0 -
it's the modern way. language, grammar and spelling evolves...
the rule is: there are no rules.
i always fill everything in in lower case apart from the Postcode.
however, my pet hate is the use of the initialism LOL
There are plenty of rules and if people want to be taken seriously they should learn them!0 -
some people really have some stupid things to complain about..........and for others to say it shows a low IQ or lack of education because they haven't used capital letters in their name is total rubbish, your all crazy. Yes it may be a sign of laziness but to say someone is uneducated or dumb is unfounded.
As mentioned before i would rather deal with anyone who pays me promptly and cant even spell their name than deal with people who think they are the greatest person in the world and has spelt their name correctly and crossed all the T's and dotted all the I's correctly but keeps me hanging on for my payment.
If it bothers you having to adjust it before printing out an address label the solution is simple.......dont adjust and print it........if the buyer complains that you never used capital letters in their name you can maybe explain to them why.................but i doubt they would complain as really.....who would......oopps silly me the OP didEveryones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0 -

Maybe if you were writing a book, not an address label.
I seriously doubt that anybody cares if there are capital letters or not, just as long as it is legible for the postman to read.
Just for reference here is the guide from Royal Mail on how to address your mail!

Out of interest how many of you have been addressing your labels incorrectly now?0 -

How interesting.... I was taught that if you wrote the address so close to the top of the envelope, you were risking the address being obscured by franking ink!
Either that doesn't apply anymore... or the person who did those examples was slacking off :rotfl:
And how come they have punctuated the Portugese bloke's name... but not the Bournemouth lady?My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
It also says on the page to avoid using commas and full stops?0
