Just went in to open account and it asked for my Clubcard Plus 16-digit account number. I have a Clubcard with an 18-digit number. Does this mean I cannot get the points? Or if you say you are not a current member does it ask for your Clubcard number later in the process?

    Hi folks,

I've been off work ill for a couple of days, but just got confirmation from Tesco (again) that this Clubcard points offer is open to existing Internet Saver customers. They say phone staff have been 'retrained' and if you experience problems from now on (which should hopefully be rare) then just call again and get a different operator.

I don't know what the Clubcard Plus is, but as I'm an existing customer (I took out the Internet Saver last year for the points) I ticked that I was an existing customer, and during the application process, it then asked for my Clubcard number. If you're not an existing customer, you'd just tick the appropriate box, and you will be asked for your Clubcard number during the process.

When it asks if you are currently an existing customer, it means if you are an existing Tesco Finance customer. Having a normal Clubcard does not mean you are yet if you have a Clubcard Plus (which is like a credit card) then you are.

Hello Dan, I don’t want to be pedantic but there is an important difference between 1) the Tesco Instant Access account being ‘open’ to Tesco Internet Saver account holders, which it most definitely is, and 2) the current Club Card Points offer to “new” Instant Access account holders being ‘open’ to existing Internet Saver account holders. The Tesco statement surely needs to be more explicit in this area.
  • sorry P4EVER, you are quite right. What they confirmed was that the clubcard points offer is open to Internet Saver customers. I'll amend the post

  • In my August Clubcard mailing, I received the following offer:

Up to 1000 Clubcard Points when you open a Tesco Internet Saver.

If you open a Tesco Savings Account by 30th September, we'll give you 250 Clubcard points - plus and extra 750 points if your balance is £3000 or more on that date.

I think this must be a personal offer (in that part of the mailing), as I can't find any details of it on the tesco site. Good deal though as the rate on this account is 3% including the 12 month bonus.

This Tesco savings account is a pain in the ar*e! You get a piece of paper where they want a sample signature. I sent it off. I gave it a week or so then I was able to log on but not completely as they said they hadn't recieved a signature. So the website prints one and I sent it. The next day I get a letter saying to the effect they don't have my signature with an opportunity to send it. I posted it yesterday. Today I have another similar letter!! What is happening!! And all to get a few bloody clubcard points! I'm bu88ered if I'm going to phone as I only want the points.

Same happened to me. I eventually managed to "add" the account when I went online, so that I could view it alongside my Internet Saver (only £1 in that now due to drop in rates). A couple of days later I logged on, only to find the Instant Access account had completely disappeared. Two days later, someone 'phoned me back to say that, because they hadn't received the confirmation that I'd received the Instant Access Savings card (posted confirmation to them ages ago), the account had been locked. Shambles.

No doubt i could investigate this for myself, but i reckon people will be a few weeks ahead of me with this and will have all the answers for me ;-D

Applied online for the month instant access....

Excepted, however i thought i could add funds now(& by BAC), but i now have to wait to for infor to be sent out to me. This correct? & do i really have to add funds by cheque? How long will this all take? I have no confirmation email or anything? seems more effort than i thought! What are the nxt stages and what is the simplest way of depositing 3K befor Oct 10th, & withdrawing straight after???

Also, can you open multiple accounts in family members names but with my clubcard account?

Sorry if these are simples already answered questions. Unless i get direct answers i am never certain. Craazy i know.

    Thanks kindly.
