Tesco Savings Loophole: Make £10 with £1 Savings

Hi guys,
Some confirmation from Tesco on the existing customer question:
" regarding your query about customers not being eligible for the points offer if they had existing savings accounts.
We are reconfirming that the offer is open to all new customers including existing Internet Saver customers."
HTH
Dan
Thanks for chasing this up Dan. Unfortunately it seems that the message has not been passed down to the staff at the call centres. I just called again and spoke to Mary who has her manager, Diane Morrow, confirm that this offer is not available to current Internet Saver customers
I'm giving up now as it seems too much hassle for 250 points

Does anyone know whether you can transfer money in/out of the account online? I'm moving to France for a year in September so that's the only way I'd be able to do it. If not, I'll just put £1 in and get my 250 points!

You'll need to order a card reader for online transfers, or ring them for a one-off closing transfer.JoRowlingRocks wrote: »Does anyone know whether you can transfer money in/out of the account online? Hi there, (long time lurker, first time brave enough to post)
I had previous contact with Tesco bank during the Internet Saver fiasco and I called their customer complaint team today to ask what the story was.
I've been told that any savings product already open will make you an existing customer, and like the last points offer, you willl not qualify if you have ANY savings account with Tesco.
The new customers only term was in the last offer too, and there must be a way they can check, as I never got points for that one. (I had a small Instant Access account already when I took the Internet Saver, then closed the Instant Access when the Internet one opened).
I had already got the same answer through the Helpline when I called too, so I'm wondering if Dan's source is from a higher authority?
Is there any hope for us points junkies this time? I could do with some extra coupons! Lol!

It was latterly, yes. But had been inserted sometime after (2 weeks or so after from memory) the Internet Saver Clubcard points promotion was launched. The new customers only term was in the last offer too...
I know because I used that fact last year to bag my points even though I already had another Internet Saver open at the time.0 -
Hi I read this thread last week and applied for the Instant Saver (though I see now I could have got the Internet Saver). I have the forms today to return with the opening cheque.
My question - and this appeared unclear (the answer that is) are the point that are rewarded only redeemable for certain things (luxury items, clothes etc) or are they converted into vouchers that can be used in the stores to buy everyday food and essentials?
Thanks0 -

Thanks
The points go onto the total of your Clubcard points, so they would be included in your vouchers that they send out and should appear on the November statement, and you can use them to buy groceries in store if you want.0 -
Sorry to be a pain but I cannot see that I have had a reply about the credit card account? I am assuming that this will not be a savings account for the purposes of the extra points. Hope I'm right!0

No reason why a Tesco credit card will prevent you having one of these accounts. Ahem, well I'm applying for one for the points, just signed the forms. I did think twice about signing and just ignoring it. But I thought what the hell, just another account to add to the 18 accounts I already have :rolleyes:Sorry to be a pain but I cannot see that I have had a reply about the credit card account? I am assuming that this will not be a savings account for the purposes of the extra points. Hope I'm right!0
