So for those of us who have already got this up and running, is the cleared balance date now the 31st December, or still the 7th October?

It could depend on when your account was "opened".

However, if I'd applied between the dates on the original offer and they didn't credit my points on my November statement because THEY couldn't get the account "opened" in time I'd be making a formal complaint (because I wanted to spend them on an Xmas present for example).

In my experience (and I've made two formal complaints with Tesco already) they'll probably issue additional points. By way of indication, I was given 3,000 points (worth £120 on Deals) for an Internet Saver closure issue. So those with problems this time could actually come out with far more points than those who opened the account early (as I did).
  • I had a letter today confirming my account is open but nothing about the clubcard points. Does that come later?

You won't get a letter confirming the points, you'll have to keep a check on your clubcard account to make sure they're added.

As long as you don't already have an Instant Access. From what MSE Dan says earlier in this thread, you will still qualify for the clubcard points if you already hold an Internet Saver. You will be able to transfer from the Internet Saver to the Instant Access.

I'm in the same position as you.

However, and to be on the safe side should things get 'awkward' with the points, I'm transferring from my Internet Saver account to the new Instant Access Savings account via an external (FP enabled so same day completion) current account...rather than directly from one Tesco account to the other.

Have you or someone else spoken with Tesco to clarify whether they need to have received your form back by 16 September to get the bonus points or whether you just to have "applied online" before this date?

I applied before Sept 16. The letter with the form was dated 13th. I checked with TPF and they said it was the date of application that counted.

I sent a cheque and have not heard anything. If I have time I may put in more cash if not I'll accept the £10.
  • What I want to know, for people who already opened the instant saver well before the September date, like me, so the account is in use, trial transactons carried out and all, will we get the Clubcard points for the balance in the account on 6 October as per original "deal". OR is this now postponed until 31 Dec and there will be nothing on 6 Oct??
