ill have to just see what i get paid lol, i thought that paying £9 each extra for 1st class isnt bad, plus it adds something more special for mine and daughters 2 days away for her birthday lol
It was just you saying that by paying £9 and then calling it a free breakfast that made me smile.0 -
I want to travel Liverpool Gatwick with an off-peak ticket but break my return journey at Leicester.
The rail booking systems give me southbound routings via Nuneaton Leicester and St Pancras at the same off peak fare as going on direct on Virgin via Euston £80.90 single (£81.90 return). But northbound it quotes much more and as a result wont quote a return fare to use the Leicester routing.
If an off peak single ticket is valid in one direction why is it not valid on the same route in the reverse direction and why can I not buy a return - any clues please?0 -

I think (but am by not fully certain) is that the southbound routing is a mistake in the journey planner and is not actually valid. It may be a hangover from a concession allowed during engineering work that they've forgotten to remove
Your best bet may be to get the return ticket, break your journey at Nuneaton (from Euston) on the return and buy a separate ticket (train or bus) to get to Leicester and back0 -
Hello

Sat 18th Feb 2012 - Return same day
London to Middlesborough - Arrive around 4pm and depart 'Boro around 8pm.

You need a plan B. There is no way you will get back to London the same day leaving that late in the evening
You might need to consider an overnight coach0 -

That's a walkon return. You may find advance singles a bit cheaper.
Bear in mind the last train back from Sunderland is at around 1820 - earlier still from Middlesbrough0 -
im trying to find a very cheap train option from darlington to new street birmingham travelling on the 31st march return 1st april for 2 adults 1 child with family railcard need to be at brum for mid day and return about 5pm at darlingtonalways looking for a bargin0

Can't immediately see anything cheaper than advance singles each way - still on the expensive side. £60ish out £48 return.
You can save £20+ by arriving in Birmingham a lot earlier than 1200 - on the 0654 from Darlington0
