Single is coming in at £146.40 !!!!!! They want a specific time going out which is the 8:15am train.
Off Peak Singles on the Sunday on that train are £37.10 each.

You don't say what time they want to return, but if they don't mind getting back to Lime Street after midnight the return leg can be done for £13.50 each.
Dep Euston 21:10, arr Liverpool LS 00:37.
Change at Warrington Bank Quay, walk to Warrington Central, then rail replacement bus to Lime Street.

Total return for two adults = £101.20.

Or even the 20:07 Euston direct to Lime Street at 22:20 will save £22 off your fare.

As Dzug says, to get the best fares you must be flexible.

Is that £90 each or total for two people?

Using East Coast Trains website, I can see Advance Singles at £20.50 per person each way.
Total return for two = £82.00.

With Advance Singles you must travel on the booked trains.
To get those prices you must book via the website I linked to earlier.
  • hi, i looked on there and could only find £90, but now coming up at £82 lol, if anyone can find owt cheaper let me know, ill be booking them this week

Don't leave it too long - they might sell out at that fare

Don't think you'll get a 1st class upgrade on the 29th as you can only upgrade on weekends ie Sat/Sun and the price is £15 each.

Nevermind, least you least you still get a light breakfast (Breakfast roll) served in the morning, followed by a choice of sandwiches with hand cooked crisps and cakes, throughout the day. Unfortunately, alcoholic drinks and hot food will be available to purchase from our CafeBAR.

I think Tismemick has seen that standard class Advance Singles are going for £20.50, but for £29.50 each (for two = an extra £18) each way, First Class Advance Singles are available. ;)

Although free breakfast, drinks and leg room costing £9.00 per person each way does seem a bit of a strange bargain. :D

Whoops, my bad :o thought he was after an onboard upgrade, mind you for buying a 1st class ticket midweek £9 extra isn't a bad price.
