    Hi

We're travelling from London - Newquay (although Truro would be fine also) on Saturday 6th August, returning Saturday 13th August.

There is one adult and one child traveller and we have a Friends and Family railcard.

The cheapest I can find to suit our times is £65.40. Arriving around 1pm on 6th, and leaving around 11.30am on 13th.

Would anyone know of a cheaper option?

    Thanks,
    Cheryl

Does anyone know a cheaper way for this journey - Ledbury to Cardiff Central?
It would be for a new job so I looked at a monthly ticket and it came to around £375 per month. Is there a cheaper way?

I doubt if you will do cheaper than that - and I wouldn't leave it too long to book. The walk on fare isn't that much more though

Does anyone know why tickets aren't released for 2nd October - it's 12 weeks away - East Coast trains say they aren't out yet.

I don't want to book my outward journey until I can book the return but then don't want to lose out on the cheap outward tickets!

Because the 12 weeks thing is a bit of a myth. It's an aspiration rather than what happens in reality.

Additionally 2 October is a weekend, and weekend tickets often come out later than weekday ones. East Coast have only released Sunday tickets up to 18 September, weekday ones to 7 October, so there could be some way to go yet.

Without knowing the details several possibilities:

Not all train companies offer groupsave - you may be being offered a different route each way (via Brum and via Newport are the possibles)

Groupsave is off peak tickets only - you may be travelling at a time on Friday that is classed as peak. All day shouldn't be.

There are occasional blackout days for groupsave - it would relate to a specific Friday, not every Friday, if this is the case. There's none that would affect you that I can see.

EDIT - having said all that I'm puzzled - neither ATW nor Cross Country offer groupsave on this trip - are we talking about the same thing?

Unfortunately Eurostar tickets ain't transferable, but I won't tell if you don't, you may also get more joy on Gumtree.

However, not used Eurostar before, but doesn't the ticket have your name on it and as your going to Paris won't you need your Passport. Therefore if you pass the ticket on, won't the name on the ticket be different to the new holder's Passport therefore making it invalid?
