Trying to book 3 of us Bristol to Manchester going up friday 30/09 coming back sunday!

How come i can get group 3 saver on the sunday but not the Friday? Is it just a weekend offer?

    Cheers
Group 3 Saver does not exist.

Saver is the name of a now defunct ticket type (though the code 'SVR' remains!)

GroupSave is the name of a product that allows 3 or 4 people to travel for the price of 2, but is not available on this route or nearby routes.

Small Group Day is the name of a product that allows between 3 and 9 people to get 25% off, but is only available to return the same day and only on Arriva Trains Wales (this may be available on Newport - Manchester services operated by ATW but will not be available on Bristol - Manchester services operated by XC)

Your best bet is to book Advance tickets (but not all operators will be selling for those dates yet, check the Booking Horizons for details)

This is worth giving a bump. Want a single to Dublin for £33? Want it today? If the answer to both those questions is yes, just ask at your local station or book online:
    http://www.seat61.com/Ireland.htm

(I found CrossCountry the "best" for booking this)

Tip: e.g. if booking from DFP - Dublin Port (Irish Ferries) to <any station> and you want the £33 fare there are some serious glitches in the website.

    1) Results are based on the fastest available trains. Click here to check if cheaper tickets with longer journey times are available (Click there)
    2) Click on Hlyhd Irishf Civ "Check for Trains". It will display N/A.
    3) Click on Hlyhd Swift Civ "Check for Trains". It will take you back to the 0845 crossing.
    4) Click earlier. 2 x 0845 crossings will come up
    5) Results are based on the fastest available trains. Click here to check if cheaper tickets with longer journey times are available (Click there)
    6) Click on Hlyhd Irishf Civ "Check for Trains".
    7) Bingo - the 0805 crossing appears.

Cheaper than what? East Coast is the best site for this trip, but you could try Grand Central Trains

Have you thought about trying Megabus? I use them all the time, cheaper and not a bad journey.

    Hi Guys

Before I jumpt to book a return on east coast - I keep reading that splitting journies down is sometime cheaper - I am wanting to go from Harrogate to Edinburgh Fri 7th Oct - returning Monday 10th - no issue on times really.

Already benifited by Travelodge sale £45 for 3 nights! - but if there is any more to save all the better!

    I have 2 options - this is

    1. Just me and the missus - coming in around £70

    2. we take the young lad - coming in at £49

1 is the preferred option as its our anniversary, but 2 is certainly no issue!

    Any thoughts please?

    Cheers

Just had a quick look on the East Coast website and you can do option

    1 (2 x adults) for £59 out 09:05 7th Oct ret 13:30 or 18:30 11th Oct
    2 (Railcard F&F 2+1) for £49 out 09:05 7th Oct ret 13:30 or 18:30 11th Oct

This is because the East Coast website offers a 10% online discount. Booking this far in advance I doubt splitting will make any difference but you could try splitting at York or Manchester Piccadilly.
Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view

There are £23.50 a head advance singles showing up on specified trains (from Taunton) or £21 from Bristol

    I wouldn't look any further
