Hi All,
I want to travel from Oxenholme to Bournemouth on the 07/08/11 and return on the 12/08/11.
Which would be the cheapest way??
Thanks in advance
Adie
you can get it down to around 80 if your not fussed on the timings using virgin fare finder and southern to split your tickets via london. You will have to pay for cross london transfer thoughone of the famous 50 -
Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post this...
I would like to convert some Tesco vouchers into 1) Red Spotted Hanky codes for one return ticket, and 2) A 16-25 railcard. I need to buy approx. £30 worth but only have £25 of Clubcard vouchers. (These are all done online)
My Mum is more than willing to give me a few of her vouchers to use, but I know that for the Railcard I need to use my vouchers as the reward is printed with my name.
Are the Red Spotted Hanky codes specific to the person who converts them, or are they like Amazon codes where you just enter the code on any account? Could I cash in some of my vouchers and some of my mum's (using our respective accounts) and use both on the same transaction? Anyone tried this?
Any help much appreciated!Optima semper libera sunt

I would also like to know the answer to the above question as I have changed some of my shopping habits to Tesco from Sainsbury's (where the prices are either cheaper or the same price) so that I can collect points for my son who is due to start uni in Sept. If I convert my Clubcard points into Red Spotted Hanky vouchers is there an option to put them in his name? When I have used Clubcard points for magazines in the past, there is normally a space on the form they send you, to put the name of someone else as the recipient of the magazine, that you then send to the magazine people. Does it work the same way?
Also I need to know if I can get train tickets from Sandwell & Dudley to Euston any cheaper by splitting:think:.
He will be traveling 3-4 times a week using a 16-25 railcard. As yet we don't know the exact times of travel, but I have been told (I enquired at the station) that he can buy an off-peak £29 return ticket, from the station on the day of travel, which would allow him to travel on peak time Virgin trains. If I can:question: get it any cheaper that would be great:T.
TIA
Regards

Technically it says on the Tesco clubcard webpage that this reward isn't transferable, but.
The only way around that I can see is;
1. Your Mother buys either the railcard or tickets with her points. defo Work
2. Your Mother changes her Tesco's email address to your email address (the one registered with Redspottedhanky) so that her exchanged Redspottedhanky points go to your account? Might work?
3. Phone Redspottedhanky on 01902 627981 non Premiumand see what they can do about it.

Try splitting at Birmingham New st and getting a London Midland service to London, you need to get a 'London Midland Only' train ticket but it will be cheaper but a slow journey to London.
Or Split again at Birmingham New st and walk to Birmingham Moor st and catch an Chiltern railway service to London, you will need a ticket routed 'Via High Wycombe' but it will be cheaper but again a slower journey to London.moneysaverangel wrote: »He will be traveling 3-4 times a week using a 16-25 railcard. True, Virgin trains only have an easement, that Off peak railcard tickets are valid on their Peak services.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
Without splitting, there are cheap London Midland fares from Sandwell and Dudley to London - eg £18 superoffpeak return0

Hi, Thanks for that, I will look into both of those tips and see if we can save a few pounds.:j

That's the cheapest possible Virgin fare
With East Coast, via Edinburgh, the cheapest possible is £14.50, less 10% on their own website0 -
You know there are £1 cheap megatrain fares from Edinburgh to birmingham and vice versa
only one train in each direction and only one ticket avail at that price but thats cheap
