Hi all, Ive been here before, tried to write a diary to spur me on to clear my debt, but as im back that means it didn’t work!
Im gonna give it another bash cos I have debt I don’t want!
A bit about me, im a 30 year old single mam to 2 little monsters aged 3 and 5. We rent the house we live in from my mam. I work 16 hours a week in school hours to support us all and keep me sane!!
I meet all my minimum payments but always pay over on my catalogue. My bills are paid on time and we have food in the house. I have a separate bills account which really helps cos my wages from work go straight into that then I live off my child and work tax credits, child benefit and child maintenance.
My problem is that I want to be out of debt sooner rather than later, so need motivation to help make some overpayments instead of spending my money on going out! Plus ive got 2 lots of school uniform to buy this year which I hope to get help with from the kids dads (we’ll see…lol)
My total debt today is - £3713.73.…..which is…..
Great universal - £516.16.…..my friends owes £232.63 of this
Lloydstsb credit card - £1697.57
Llyodstsb overdraft - £1000
Cahoot overdraft - £500
Just done my snowball with the figures I already pay and I can be debt fee by August 2011. I’ll play about with it and see how much I have to put in so I can be debt free by Christmas 2010.:j
Theres no point me doing a SOA just yet cos my tax credits and child care fees are changing so not sure where I am right now, will post one once I know what im doing.
Feel free to comment, and give me a kick up the bum…lol
First changes - Start shopping with Tesco online so I can earn points, and cashback :T
- start doing my SOA and add to it once I know my figures from tax credits
19/01/2010 - Debt has gone down since i started this, new plan of action @ post #55

Welcome to diary land, nicnacnoo. I remember the monster age very well and mine still seem to be there at times.:D
Good luck with debtbusting...some of us will be around for a long time, but the company seems good on here.
BOB xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
What is the APR on your debts? Is it most beneficial to be overpaying on the Great Universal one (i.e. is that the highest APR)?0

...and that is why i love this site and all you lovely peoplei knew i should have done this but didnt 'see' it till you pointed it out thank you. So instead of paying the £15 odd extra on great universal, which is 0% i'll pay it off my cc which is 11.9%
:T0 -
spent the best part of a tenner today on stuff for tea for a couple of nights, milk, crisps and sweets for the kids, the kids dont get sweets everyday so this isnt the norm. Also a bus ticket to get to the Hospital for an appointment and it was raining so i wasnt dragging 2 kids along in that!
For the rest of the day i have to call tax credits and update my info, tried yesterday but it didnt give me the option to hold, it now just says all the operators are busy and cuts you off!
Got my washing drying infront of the fire cos the launderette at the top of the street closed without telling me! so now i have the fire on in 'summer' grrr!
need to go check my online banking, think i might do the PaD again, i was doing well with that.0 -
Have you thought about buying a decent clothes airer? I have this one
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80119043
which has just gone up in price.
It's massive and takes at least two loads of laundry, folds away when not in use and only uses two square feet of floor space! It lives in out bedroom cos we are never in there in the day. At this time of year my washing is dry within the day.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Thanx for the link, unfortunately Ikea dont deliver in our area and our nearest one is about 2 hours drive!0 -
Heya are you having a good day today?
I cant et my clothes airer to stay up!!! One of the connection bits is missing, silly me0 -
I managed to cancel a couple of direct debits of things i didnt need (credit expert and World of Warcraft) saving me £14
Rang up and sorted out my tax credits so im waiting for my letter to see what my new weekly amount is then i'll do my SoA.
I did my first ever online shop with Tesco last night, went thru pigsback so i got the points :T then i found a code online and got a tenner off :j. So that is getting delivered tonight, hope ive remembered everything???
Also rang up for my mac code from AOL so i can transfer to talk talk for a lot cheaper.
Plan of action for the weekend.....Dont take anymore money out of the bank, £20 in my purse will last, going to a mates for a BBQ but not going out, also taking the kids somewhere on the train tomorrow and having dinner out, shouldnt spend more than £15.
Question - Do you think Lloydstsb might freeze my interest if i ask? even tho im not in financial difficulty???0 -

Gutted LittleBoots, ive got a rubbish one that kind of leans in on itself, which isnt good when there are heavy things on it infront of the fire!0 -
