  • Has anyone bought tickets for their kids during the week? What do you do about telling schools - would they allow your child to leave for such a reason? Sorry, I'm new to school rules - my son only started this september and I had no choice but to book mid-week tickets.

If you took your child out of school for this reason it would be an unauthorised absence. The place I work wouldn't be too impressed with your reason for wanting time off. You could always tell a little white lie but then your son would tell everyone about it the next day.
  • Finally, all the calls and refreshing web pages today, pop on here, click a link and book the date i wanted all along!

Thanks to all those with tips/help today, apart from the man who records the message for Harrods and the person who chose charriots of fire to accompany it!!! (if you called, you know what i mean!)

    Thanks again.

I agree with the other poster - sorry cannot multi quote.

I'm a primary school teacher and this would be frowned on I'm afraid. It would be classed as unauthorised. You are allowed 10 days for holidays during school time but you have to apply for these in advance.

I have children myself so I can understand how hard it is.
