I knew i'd seen a May 2011 thread on here somehwere, took me ages to find it though!

The date is set, Saturday 14th May 2011,

Church booked,
Reception venue booked,
Table decorations bought


hmmmm doesnt seem that much but its taken a month just to do that!!

I've spent ages looking for a cheap way of making my invitations but still havent found something i'm happy with so will keep looking for that!

My Bridesmaids are all talking colours and styles for their dresses so we're starting to get somewhere now. I just want to get the key things in place and then sit back and chill out for a while, it's all a bit overwhelming really! I'm happy organising the event itself but it hasn't sinked in that it will be me and my other half that will actually be getting married! I guess it will sink in eventually and thats when I will start to panick!

Lots of people keep asking me questions and my standard answer is "I dunno I haven't got that far yet - there's plenty of time". I just want to enjoy organising it not be all stressed so I'm trying to take it step by step.

Doesn't help that it's going to take AGES to save enough pennies to pay for this thing!!! Rings are going to be bought with converted clubcard points through goldsmiths so at least thats one thing we dont have to worry about!!

I've got three weddings to go to over the next three months so I'm going with a notebook to remember all the do's and don'ts!!!

Sounds like everyone is getting there gradually tho!!:T

getting married on 2nd May 2011 (it's the bank holiday Monday with me in Northern Ireland).

we've got the venue and the church booked and we've been looking at photographers and cars but other than that nothing else.

it's been rather mad since we got engaged (which was christmas eve 2008), as we bought a house in april 2009. We decided just to have a look round when the market was that low not actually thinking we'd find anywhere but we fell in love with a house and we're lucky enough to get a mortgage as well.

so as well as the mortgage we were saving like mad towards the wedding (not doing to badly either) and just managed to get the date, church and venue sorted in oct 09.

how we're hitting all the stuff we have to arrange, i'm nervous but i'm looking forward to it. going to start trying on dresses over easter when i'm off but i have seen a maggie sottero that i like online. going to see if anywhere has it so i can try it on but i think i might be getting it from landy or milly in the end up after reading all about them on here if it suits me but you never know till you start trying on the dresses, well that's what both my sisters told me!

i do have the option of wearing one of my two sisters wedding dresses either, which i'm considering both are really lovely dresses. but if i the maggie dress i love so much suits me then i think that's the one i'll be getting lol.

I'm a May 2011 bride too....... Have gone for Saturday 28th May. Bank holiday weekend so makes it much easier for family to stay and not have to rush off on the Sunday.
Venue sorted, worked out well, have gone for a Wild Animal Park where i work so should be a perfect day including safari ride round the park, something a little different.

Darn it!
I just got a job at the place I'm getting hitched (which is great!) which means that I could have the ceremony for free if we get married sunday-wednesday (!!!!), but we have our heart set on 28/5/11 - a saturday, and there is no discount then. !!!!.

We're getting married in May too now!!! We were going for May 2012, but I have been on and on about brining it forwards an H2B finally agreed!! We are hoping for bank holiday weekend and have emailed the church to find out when we can do it, either Friday 27th, Sun 29th or Monday 30th May 2011

We want to put a deposit down for our chosen venue, any idea how much is normally requested for the deposit? The venue charges £1500 on weekdays for hire, so any idea based on this figure?

Hmm not sure, all the venues we looked at weren't that much just to hire it so might not be able to compare figures... however the deposits seemed to be around the £500 mark for most of the venues we looked at apart from the one we chose which was £800. (North East England)

got a lovely dress for my flowergirl in bhs (they had a sale) now all i have to do is cross my fingers and hope she doesn't grow at an outstanding rate between now and then (although i was smart enough to get her a size bigger than what she's wearing now :j
