Hello Brides to be, I am getting married on 1st May 2011!
I need your help with trying to find matching opera length gloves and wraps for my bridesmaids, as they are wearing different dresses (same colour) I thought some longs gloves and a scarf/wrap in white satin might pull all the looks together. I didnt find much on ebay or down my local high street and as usual I am hoping to keep to a budget, hoping to spend around £10 for each bridesmaid for both gloves and a wrap (there are 4 maids)
You guys are all so knowledgeable and seem to be very good with the old googling it always takes me ages to find anything!0 -
Long white satin opera gloves:

Any good?
wraps are more difficult.. do you know anyone handy with a sewing machine? Probably cheaper to buy the material and then just have someone hem it around to use as a wrap. (this is from a person who doesn't sew at all so i may be completely wrong!)

a bit over budget...0 -
That first website is great...the first gloves I had found were £18 a pair (I thought maybe they could have one glove each, like Michael Jackson .... LOL) You may be right about the wraps...... cant be that hard to find someone with a sewing machine......0

it's about a metre and a half long so they should be able to wear them draped over their arms like a wrap? (abd you would get free shipping as spending over £15)
With those gloves and these at £4.99 you'd be coming in under budget at £8.98 per person
Or what about these?

spent most of last night guillotining my invites in preparation of putting them together tomorrow. got all of them guillotined and got the purple background i'm using cut to size and cut out all the individual logos.
also went envelope hunting today... all i have to do now is get the information i want printed on information sheet of the website so i can print it off tomorrow and start putting everything together.
also went into work early this morning so i could sort out the kids invites, each of my nephews and the OH nieces are getting special invites (there's only 5 in total). So i made up kid invites, each of which will have their own picture on them which i've printed onto magnetic paper so they can pop them on the fridge
will put up pics when they're all sorted which hopefully will be sunday at some stage!0 -
I'm also getting my invites sorted at the moment. Will probably be ready towards the end of next week. Would have been earlier but my grandma died unexpectedly on Tuesday and it kinda set me back a bit.0

awww hon, sorry to hear about your gran *hugs* i'm hoping that the invites will go out in bits and pieces over the next week and rsvp is the middle of march to give time for people to reply and also so i can chase up the stragglers (of which i know there will be a good few)
good luck with getting the invites done.0 -
80 wedding invites finally done (but just realised i have another 10 to do so i can send them to the family)
now all i have to go is get the little sheet that's going in with it put together and printed and the rsvp card with envelopes to put it in.
i so need to get some sleep lol my head, eyes, neck and wrists hurt from putting them all together!0 -
Getting close now. Paid the balance to the registry office last week so less than 16 weeks!
Invitations have arrived, going to write the address labels at work Friday night and post them out at the weekend.
Shopping for shoes and underwear with dd on Saturday whilst h2b is at work. Got my fascinator from charity shop for £3 so that's my something old sorted!
Still need to find h2b a suit, order the wedding rings (just plain white gold bands) and order the flowers. Going down the artificial route as ceremony is at 11.00am and I will be stressing about them not being delivered in time.
Currently cross-stitching little purple hearts for the place names, then need to make them up with the favour bags.Married 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

had a mad weekend of travelling the roads but i've finally got my florist (going to phone and book her this morning) and have also got one quote for a make-up person just waiting to hear back from another and the lady doing my hair has been booked.
also made the appointment for H2B, Best Man and my dad to get fitted for their kilts/suit this weekend so that's another few jobs to be ticked off :j
also my dad is going to my local town hall this morning to put in the marriage notice forms *phew* so the legal side of things is finally getting sorted and had a great chat with my priest at the weekend regarding the pre-nuptial enquiry we have to do, rehersal times and other little bits and pieces that need to get be done.
planning on going down maybe in two weeks time to get the final things done with him and sort out any other bits that i have to be at home to do.
the final niggly things are slowly getting done, just have to make the push to get the invites out this week and have a look at getting a little wedding list together
12 weeks and counting from today..... the time is flying in so fast i'm sure i'll not feel it disappear.
have tons to sort out at work as well seeing as i'm going to be off on honeymoon at the most busiest time *oops*
