Why did you do that? You could have donated it to the OP0 -
Lets be honest how often do you move a CRT?
Once to get it in the house
Once every few years if you happen to move
and once again to chuck it when it dies!
Not exactly a convincing reason to not get one, considering for the past 50 years its what everyone had.0 -
If you can't afford the latest and greatest, buy a cheaper one,
If you want the latest and greatest, save up for it.
Businesses such as Bright House or Buy As You View coin it in from dummies who want all the latest and greatest gadgets, but without the expense. These businesses know they can get away with the ridiculous interest rates and silly T&C's, because their stereotypical clientelle are so desperate to get their hands on the goods, they don't care. (With the greatest respect, I am sure the OP is certainly NOT a dummy!) In the trade it is known as the "Never-Never": When the payments are nearing completion, the bandits will simply flog another telly to them by convincing them their current one is 'out of fashion' locking them for another X years. The 'want' completely overtakes the 'need'.
In my opinion, spend within your means. Buy a cheaper telly. If you want a better one: save up for it. Don't get sucked into ultra-high APR rates just so you can impress the neighbours! A half-decent TV can be cheaper than you think.Profit=sanity

When my OH dropped my (CRT) telly on the floor  whilst decorating, I replaced it with a CRT from ebay from a local seller. Only a couple of years old, they had upgraded to a huge LCD one they probably should have been sat in the back garden to watch to get the best viewing angle.
£2.31...............and then reduced to £1.69 after cashback with Quidco
And there was me willing to go to £40 for one! :rotfl:"Stay Wonky":D

In one sentence, avoid Brighthouse like the plague.
by the time you have paid off your telly, it will be time to buy another one, also, and more importantly. it is not very MSE.:DLike good food and drink?
Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

The poster obviously meant anywhere that offers instant credit terms without a check.
