Hi there - I'm back.
Had a great time with kids (and grandson).
Lots of No spending time - so even better. :j
Just an update on where I am at the moment.
Have now heard back from 2 creditors following my second letter. They have agreed to token payment and freeze on interest and charges to my account for six months.
Luckily one of them was CapitalOne (surprisingly) so have now advised Nationwide that some of my creditors have agreed - so need to wait and see what they come back with.
Can you believe that on the bottom of their 'intimidating' letter, there is a tagline saying 'NATIONWIDE ARE ALWAYS SYMPATHETIC TO THOSE IN DIFFICULTY' - Huh! my A*** they are!
Still making inroads with the fundraising so will keep at it. I can't do much more than I am doing, and I am definately keeping copies of every letter. If they should take me to court I can show exactly what I am doing to address this - and also the unreasonable responses I have got from them.
They told me that they cannot accept my offer because their systems cannot process £1.00. It doesn't seem to stop them from sending me a statement for .25p on a savings account each month! :rotfl:
Off to the hospital next week (frightened to death).
Oh! one other piece of good news - I had my application for ESA approved - £64.00 per week straight in the pot.
This illness is driving me mad. Some days I can't stop - rushing around like a lunatic and painting & cleaning - then the next day I can hardly contemplate going on! Please God they will come up with something at the hospital this time.
I'm sorry - I AM SO SELFISH!
You all have your own problems - and I hope things are progressing for you. I don't under estimate the time and support you give me - and hope I can reciprocate in some way soon.
Lots of hugs to you all. :grouphug: xxxDebt at LBM £60k (July 09) Jan14 £5k Feb14 £4615

Hi Hettie :hello:. Glad you had a lovely holiday - sooooo jealous. And a low spend one at that. :j. My OH has got next week off so was looking forward to spending some time with him but Landlord has accepted an offer on the house and has served us notice so we will be continuing t house hunt and packing.
You seem to be doing so well. Great news about ESA and the fundraising - it all helps, and as you say you've got all the useless stuff the banks have sent you and the fact that you are doing your best and they can't have what you haven't got - hopefully they will register that eventually.
Sorry to hear about the stress/illness thing- there's a lot going on for you at the moment. Stick with it. You've got the debt thing going in the right direction so hope you can take some time out to deal with the health.
Everyone on here has their own problems and you are no different to everyone else in that respect. I see you have popped up a bit giving other posters advice and getting them on the right road which is fab.
ANyway if you want to chat the daily chat thread is usally very friendly and full of erm well chat so I am sure they will welcome you.
Keep us updated with the progress.

Hi Hettie - I hope the hospital thing goes well this week. Hugs to DF too - that can't be very nice, househunting in that situation, I hope you find something that suits really soon.
I'm decluttering! Its the other side of trying to get debt free - at some point, you have to start paying attention for a bit to the rest of your life. For instance, I can't even sort out what I want to try to sell on ebay because I can't find anywhere to stack stuff that won't trip me up. My sister helped me reach the back of the garage yesterday - I've literally not been back there since the year I moved in, 11 years ago now.
Hettie, it sounds like you're doing well, you've made inroads on all fronts - just keep going, have a look around the boards to give you a bit of a lift if things get tough - I don't go to the daily chat myself, but I do look at other diaries, and there's always a laugh somewhere on there.
Take care.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
hi Hetticaro, I just wanted to say my heart goes out to you, like you I left a well paid job due to stress, depression and being bullied by my manager. Also have nuerological and stomach probs and owe Nat West £6,700 and Tesco CC £800. Am on ESA at the mo and trying to sort stuff out. When I do work again I am going to look for somthing with a lot less stress and just live on a tight budget to clear my debts cos that cliche of health being the most important thing is so true. I still wake up thankful that I never have to have another ghastly supervision where I am pulled to pieces and left in tears ir sit in another horrible team meeting. Good luck, I so hope things start to move in a more positive direction for you0

:)Thanks Yellowduck - your situation sounds very like mine.
Have now reached the point where I HAVE to put my health first. One day I have boundless energy, and the next I just need to sleep. Strange thing depression.
Am having trouble with Nationwide Bldg soc. at moment. They keep sending me letters (the latest is the demand for final payment in full - default letter), but the letters are never from the same person. Have now sent them 4 letters altogether - but the next one has just arrived saying I am not responding to them and they will be taking me to court - This is from yet another person. I don't know what to do next!
Anyway - tomorrow is the big day for the hospital - hopefully they'll suggest I'm put down - put me and everyone else out of their misery. My family must be SO sick of me!
Hope YOU are feeling better - and I agree wholeheartedly that a less stressful job has to be the way forward for you.
Good luck & thank you for your post. Hope to hear from you again.
Will post hospital stuff as soon as I know something.

Hello hetticario,
Just been reading up on where you're at. I can identify with the crazy loads of energy one day and totally fagged out the next. (different ailment same problem)I have found that not going mad and doing everything like a banshee on the good days has helped me even out the energy levels. I have developed a system where everything gets done slowly, but still gets done. I do a little and then have a rest, it takes a lot longer but helps me both physically and mentally.
You have to take care of you first.
Do you have anyone that could go with you to the hospital visits, it can make it much easier knowing you have 'someone's there' if you know what I mean?
Sending many hugs.0
