Is that what you call it?!

Re. the stars... maybe we could keep a reward system, but sometimes have it for completing all 3 levels, and sometimes for challenges. I think Toots likes doing the stars etc, as it gives her a good reason to keep an eye on us all (and she's certainly not going to be up to flying herself when she gets back), so I wouldn't want to get rid of them altogether, but maybe she and Pigpen agree the award system each week.

Dusty is right about the need to substitute, and Pigpen makes clear in the first post that the lists are guidelines. They point us in the right direction, but I for one don't do my windows nearly as often as Pigpen would like, as they simply don't get dirty enough :D. However, last week's wardrobe clearance was great, despite the fuss I made about it, and putting it off until Sunday night, it needed to be done (and there's more that still does, which I'm sure I'll get round to!)

hex2 - my ex worked his socks off for us so I could stay about home - we had three in 3 years, girls are the same age for a week and a day. For that reason he because, of me never lifted a finger come the house or DIY. It worked for us, I worked in the home, he worked outside of it.

With my lovely new DH, we both work full time and cos the ages of the kids, youngest is 18, we 'share' housework, never been mentioned/discussed, we just do. Whatever works for any couple is the way to go. Don't feel your not contributing, to me being a stay at home mum is the hardest job in the world, been there, done so KNOW xx

Hex I think you have a good balance there...I had a good balance with exOH when we both worked and had DS we had division of labour, then I had DD and a year at home then I got a p/t evening job so he did the bathing and putting to bed four nights (later I discovered he didn't always do it all IYSWIM) but when I went to study he seemed to think I needed NO help AT ALL. He actually told me that when I was working f/t he would 'reduce my housekeeping' despite the fact that he put petrol etc on CCs for me to pay...it's awful though, that you feel you have to justify your decision/choices...personally I appreciate being able to work part time because I know that were I full time in this job all my weekends would be taken up with work and my kids still need me.
A colleague of mine, who is f/t has recently employed a cleaner...(I know this cos I found her cleaner for her!) and she has no kids. It almost seems silly to spend time working so you can pay for someone to clean your home (though embb wouldn't agree ;)- but I like taking care of my home!)

ooh I have a dilemma - your thoughts please.

DD (13-and-a-half) has been invited to a sleepover at her friends, Friend has a big brother 14/15 and a really sensible lad who I get on with. Dilemma is both mum and mum's OH will be at work, on nights so the kids will be in on their own. Now I KNOW they ARE all sensible kids ...

    thoughts please?

I think I have seriously misunderstood the weekly challenge actually. No way am I listing 5 things on e bay at once BUT I am decluttering, I am! I just wrote 5 things I needed to do!
