    Evening all

Not done anything since my last post as I needed to visit 3 neighbours re different things and stopped for a glass of wine at the last one.

    Stars/lists and life

Firslty a massive thank you for Pigpen for the lists. I am sure a lot of thought goes into them and I can honestly say that over the months I have done many tasks that I would never have if they had not been on the list (things like sort the airing cupboard, clean the porch, wash the pet bedding, wipe the front door etc)

To start with I loved getting the stars but to be honest like those of us with kids know star charts can be short lived and the effects wear off and can even lead to rebellion. I found that if I knew I could not get a star for that day I'd do less of the day rather than nearly get a star - just me I'm sure, but I can find them demoralising.

The levels are great and I think for flybabies are definitely the way to go.

I like having the odd challenge - not every week, but I hope to complete some of the declutter this week.

Posting your own lists can be very usefull too.

Considering the work involved I'd go with OS and Serena and say scrap them, go back to basics, be glad of what you have achieved in a week. Use Pigpen's wonderful lists for inspiration and guidance but why clean out a cupboard that doesn't need doing when your DW filters are filthy, just to get the star? I am sure there has been improvising/cheating/substitution going on to get the stars but what the h$ll as long as something was done.

However, some people may just love the stars and I'd hate for Toots to feel that we did not appreciate her star keeping so if others want to keep them that is good too but on reflection I'm going back to using Miss P for guidance and inspiration with the odd bit of tweaking and a few days of just well being.

Love to all Dusty (two glasses of wine have gone to my head)

Maybe we should forget the idea of the stars completely.
    Less work
    Less competition
People can post and pat themselves on their back for their efforts....

TBH that sounds like a good idea, means the star givers can enjoy the thread............

:mad: Rant alert - I moved my current account recently (well, actually not so recently, at the beginning of the month) because I was promised it would be easy and efficient. I moved it to the same place as my mortgage, thinking it would make my life easier (also I loathe my old bank as they're incredibly unethical). Anyway, I asked for my DDs/Standing orders to come out of my account from mid-month, as I'd be paid in the old account then move the money across, and they all start a couple of days after I get paid. And I put some cash in the new account in case the transfer took a while... ANYWAY... I kept checking and nothing had been set up... I finally got a letter saying that they'd requested the transfers on the 22nd... so checked the account, nothing was set up... sent a message... finally got a reply today, and it appears that my standing order to my savings account has been sorted, my personal one-off payment details have been moved, but none of my bills, INCLUDING the mortgage I pay to the same bank :mad:. Next month my pay will (hopefully... assuming payroll can cope) will go into the new account, but god only knows where the bills will be paid from. I thought this was all supposed to happen quickly and efficiently nowadays?:mad:

Right... must go and tidy up and get my stuff ready for the gym! I might even nip out for a quick walk in the dark before going to bed and doing the reading for the interview...
