Thanks... I'll call them tomorrow, as I've also noticed that they have valued my car at considerably more than it's worth!!!
Best to find out.
After my 2 accidents earlier this year both of which wern't my fault and were 4 weeks apart I was dreading renewing my insurance.
I did the usual scraping search for quotes and all came in higher due to the non fault accidents ~(thanks, what is no claims protection for then???). I contacted my company and the cost had only gone up by £1 originally and with a bit of negotiation over the %APR for monthly payment and lowering the excess it has gone up by £4.80 for the year in total.
I was well pleased about this and glad to stay with the same company as they were great sorting out the accident damage repairs etc plus they were great and lowering the price a little for me.
The value of my car is market value on my insurance details - is yours?

Afternoon all
I've sorted out DS2&3's books with them this morning and tried on the wetsuits for if the pool is cold on holiday. Still have DS1 books and wetsuit to do but he's at golfmorning all feeling a bit brighter but then OH is still in his pit i took the sofa last night!
very breezy today here but not raining
ds1 at golf ( or will be when i drop him in half hour) so lots of messing around this morning
iron golf outfit and best shirt for ds1 tomorrow (early start) he is playing for the county
Sorry to hear about your OH, is he getting any treatment. Could you write down what he says to you and then show him when he is not depressed?
I don't iron most of the golf stuff, it is the sort of fabric which will drip dry and the trousers go over the AGA bar, just do the club shirt which is fred perry style.Looking at my insurance paperwork I've got a question... this is the second year with this broker, and I told them that in 2007 I was in an accident that was nothing to do with me (someone drove into the car behind me when I was in stationary traffic in the snow), which I'm not even aware of costs for as the insurer didn't tell me as they dealt with everything. They told me it wasn't relevant - but this form asks me whether I have been 'involved in any accident or loss regardless of blame in the last three years whether or not a claim was made'... so do I have to make sure they have the details? It seems a bit unfair if it will put my premium up, but then again, I don't want to be accused of having misled them.
Any thoughts?
Make sure your value is correct - it will bring the premium down and there is no point in over insuring cause they won't pay out over the top anyhow. Most claims only want an approx value and it is worth finding out what it was and keeping a record. Just make sure it is recorded as a no fault claim - did your company get it back from the other one?
Time for a cuppa, second WM and then I'm gardening out the front this afternoon whilst we have no rain.
Pigpen - hugs sweetie, it must be a big difference going form 7 kids to zero. I know it is hard but could you plan a bit better so you can either enjoy or be productive with your freedom? Maybe you will find it a help once you start your uni course. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Pigpen - I know how you feel, it leaves a huge hole BUT it does get better and I used the new free time to do quality things wth my new man
Have folded one load of the line and put away.
Have hoovered the spare room and nagged DS to do his.
Went to help DD with hers and she refused to stop what she was doing on her DS to help me so now she's got no help and I'm going to conquer some more admin things from my list.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Thanks... I found the same - when I searched online, putting the accident in put the cost up hugely (yup, same here on the no claims), and they wouldn't let me put £0 in for the cost (I've got no idea how much it cost as I didn't see any bills).
The value of the car is in no way market rate - they've left it the same as last year, and second-hand values have plummeted (TBH I think they over-valued it last year anyway). How much would you pay for a 9 year old automatic Audit A3 (OK, so it's the sport model) with over 100,000 miles on the clock? Not much, I bet - I know I wouldn't, even if it was a bit cleaner!Dustykitten wrote: »Make sure your value is correct - it will bring the premium down and there is no point in over insuring cause they won't pay out over the top anyhow. Thanks Dusty - I'll query all this tomorrow. I've paid the premium and got a temporary cover note at the moment, pending the return of the paperwork. I must stop leaving this kind of stuff to the last minute, but have been a bit preoccupied with job hunting and stuff
DW emptied, loo scrubbed (actually, I think it needs a proper deep clean, but I really can't face it at the moment), lunch eaten (mini quiche and apricot & almond doughnut, both from the farmers' market). I really do need to get on and clear/wipe surfaces and hoover throughout. It's not that bad, just enough to be slightly depressing, and if I deal with it now it will be manageable through the week.0 -
Have caught up with the thread now
Wilf - hugs; hope things improve for you and OH; good luck to DS1 for tomorrow
jinky - how's the head?
crafty - wow - it's a gorgeous room but so not me (it's pink for starters!!). Mine's the complete opposite.
Me - huge hugs; I'm sure you'll have a great time once you get there
pigpen -for you!

Thoughts please on my favours.
Would love to get something 'local' when we get there but it means rushing round looking for something. Am now thinking about gold envelopes with lottery tickets for the day of our wedding, and am thinking about putting a note in to say something like 'just wanted to give you a chance to celebrate on our big day too'. What do you think? Am also seeing if I can get some mini chocolates printed that I will put into little gold organza bags. Cheers xMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Don't think there was one in Dundee. If there was it wasn't very well publisised.
Right I am in a bit of a sorting/doing/planning mood. overall plan is we are selling up and buying a bigger house next summer. Between now an then I want to totally declutter, decorate hallway, modernise our bathroom that has an ugly coloured suit that will put off buyers and sort out the little patio area so it looks appealing.
I have lost about 5 stones and have a wardrobe full of unworm clothes that don't fit and never will because those 5 stones will not be going back on.
Starting with little baby steps I will be listing some clothes on ebay tonight and tomorrow, that should hopefully clear some space. I aim to list and box up the Christmas pressies I have bought and put them away in the hall cupboard. Get some of the baby stuff my youngest has grown out of and get it to my local charity shop.
Get into the Hall cupboard and throw away old towels/bedlinen that is no longer usable for whatever reason in the rag recycling bin at the local recycling place. Organise what we are keeping by folding the towels and sheets and not just piling everything in as currently happens.
I need to look at our kitchen cupboards and organise them better. More organisation and less putting things somplace they fit.
Kids room has lots of storage but has toys all over the place and not in the drawers or boxes. This room is quite easy to sort but will take nightly disapline to keep it this way. I need to get my kids more involved in putting things away.
All this in addition to the level one FL tasks. I will be setting myself a mini target by the end of August. Ideally to have the kids room sorted, hall cupboard sorted and kitchen in order. Our room should start to fall in line as clothes are got rid of, Christmas gifts stored away.
I think I need a miracle.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
