Morning all
OH has gone to work again this morning so very kindly brought me a cuppa at 630 - its Sunday morning FGSbut as I'm awake I thought I'd catch up then go and start sorting washing and hopefully get some as the sun is shining at them moment. It often is at this time but then is cloudy by about 9!
Boddy - glad you enjoyed your retirement do
Gingergirl - if you head this way there is a startrite factory in Norwich and in the shop there the shoes are usually about half price. Well worth a visit but it is only a Mon - Fri thing and does get very busy.
Rosepink - nice to see you posting and glad you had a better day yesterday. Love the pebble idea but the weight would be a problem in the suitcase.
Crafty - I have a wondeful bedroom  did you not see the pics a few weeks ago. However my 17 year lad arranges his cushions on the top of his bed every day (OMG that doesnt bode well does it still he is always talking aout which girls are pretty etc
)
Wilf55 - hugs for you, I've been there. I think its the only time I ever get a sorry from my OH. He doesnt realise how nasty he's being ntil he feels better, its really sad.
Right washing round up then WM on, breakfast and shower.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
But all those cushions on top? I'm sorry, I think all that extra washing of soft furnishings and sorting and bedtime routine - even if you just throw them on the floor - they still need picking up the next morning.LilacPixie wrote: »I certainly don't. I suppose I started it because I am thinking of redecorating my bedroom having been tempted by a duvet set in TKMaxx. And then I saw perfect wallpaper in B&Q (except I have never put up wallpaper) And it sort of snowballed. :eek:0 -
Morning lovelies!
Didn't post yesterday as I was at work and AF arrived at the same time and I felt dreadful when I came home so went to bed, feel better this morning tho I was up at 6.50 after feeling my neck creak (didn't want to start my week off with an awful stiff neck) so got up and am trying to work it off.
Lots to do today out and about, GD visit, drop DD1 at work, then a visit to an Antiques & Collectors Fair, then a bag of open chips for all along the seafront, oh and a pop into Morrisons on the way back for a few bits (well I will be using their car park - only fair)
WM is on with my stuff, cat fed and played with, need to make a plan of action for this week, I plan to do minimal housey stuff and lots of fun things, The Hancock Museum is on the cards and a trip to the flicks but need to co-ordinate diaries with DD1 and check times etc.
Need to nip to the shop now cause I've run out of bacci -good grief I never learn, I should just buy the big packets  and sugar for my next brew.
Crafty LOL I so get you. One of my customers has a really expensive throw on her bed it looks fabulous, but it's hiding the most awful tatty duvet cover underneath.
Grateful for help My OH's a kitchen fitter and has never charged 4k for one in his life and he's done some biggies, that's far too much to be paying, best advice is to get at least 3 quotes from independant fitters, depending what you have fitted (everything has a price per item - even cuts on the worktop lol) should cost no more than £1500 for a basic fit (no fancy stuff) I'd say more than that and they're picking your eyes out.0 -
Morning all
Wilf55 - hope you're feeling a bit better this morning, big hugs anyway
Greenbee and Frodders and Mrs B - if you're doing a pub crawl using the train, I suggest you do it in August. SW Trains are doing a midsummer madness deal where you can get a day return on Saturdays and Sundays in August for £10 (there are a couple of restrictions I think). This deal has come in so handy for us going up to London for the wedding next Saturday
We have sunshine this morning. I wonder if it will stay that way...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Ooooh yes now that's nice
there's not too many cushions it's def manageable in the mornings.
Been to shop and it's shall I say fresh out there today, sunny but a nice fresh breeze - should get me washing dry.
The cat's doing my nut in with this damn tray, it's a covered one and only recently is refusing to 'go' in it even though there's about a foot of litter and it's been scooped  I'm not pandering to her so she'll just have to lump it, can't wait till she's allowed out.
Brew time....
ETA: I caved in to her moanful cries and took the lid off, she's so outside on Tuesday after her jabs.0 -
Good Morning All
It is lovely and sunny here - great but it does show both how dirty my wndows are and how much the garden needs weeding - oh hum!!:o
I have taken the plunge with my disgraceful house - why do I pick a time when I only have the weekend before I leave for our holiday.....
I have picked up everything - and I mean everything off the floor so that I can hoover - not been done for weeks I am ashamed to say.. Now the hall is full of bags and the sofa and chair are covered right up above the backs.... Now I am even more ashamed.....:o I have got DS to clear the utility room as I couldn't get in there for stuff - mostly it is mother's crud that she wants me to sell or I have taken away so that it does not get re-absorbed into her house.
So yesterday I did all of this and hoovered..... also spent ages in kitchen trying to clean it again - how can it get in such a mess with just 3 of us here. It took ages.....
So today I am going to do the same in my bedroom so that I will actually be able to put up the extra rail to take Mum's clothes and be able to reach my wardrobe (first time for weeks) to put my clothes away. Then when I pack tonight I will be able to find my clothes - well that is the theory anyway!!
I cannot believe that I am not really looking forward to my holiday - it just feels like more hassle and expensive at that..... not that I have much money only the housekeeping for the week..... we will just have to be creative about what we do. It is only DD and I going to a friends cottage and she is happy to spend hours reading. I might also try to do the Ornage Wednesday thing and my friend has given me her National Trust card so that would be free.
I think AF might be paying a visit today as I am sat here in tears......
MeNovember NSD 1/10Weight loss - 7lbs from the 41 I need to loose = 34 to go0 -
Awww me I feel/felt the same about holidays, more hassle and expense than they're worth and I itched to come back the whole time, plus it was knackering lol Haven't really been on one since 'the new me' so can't say If my attitude has changed or not. But a week in a Cottage with a National Trust card sounds like heaven, bet you'll have a blast. Re: your mums stuff, can you not either fling it or take it to the charity shop, there's no way I'd be keeping other peoples crud, get rid. ((((hugs))))0
