    Afternoon all

Not done much round the house today, just general tidying up and I cooked a roast dinner because we're out tomorrow.

Got woken up at 6am by next door trying to get into his own house. He smashed the front door glass in the end. Makes a change from the police raiding it anyway. He's hammering now.

It's finally stopped raining, but luckily I didn't have enough washing for a load anyway.

    Hope everyone's OK.

Dont want to lecture but to anyone driving the morning after, please be careful - it takes 1 hour to get one unit of alcohol out of your system from the time you STOP drinking. Might be worth calculating your units, the average woman will be over the limit with 4 - 5 units. Sorry.

I am pleased someone agrees with me re morning after driving. DS2, who never goes out, ever, went out drinking last night and got home around 2am. I insisted that DS3 did the driving for him this morning and other than moaning and groaning about Mum being so fussy, he agreed. Sure sign he was still over the limit as he wouldn't have agreed otherwise:) Mum is right as always.:)

I spent last week doing what needed doing in relation to my energy levels and despite doing less the house is surprisingly tidy. My friend who visited last week wanted to know how with five of us living here that we keep it tidy. She hasn't seen behind closed doors!:rotfl:

I hope pigpen and other poorlies are better soon.

    Oh proud Mum moment

DS1(15) and DS2(13 but size of a 10 year old) and playing for the men's III team today. DH just rang to say they batted together for quite a while DS1 got 43 and then DS2 got 7 but not out - retired. They'll both be chuffed. They are having tea now and then the bowling will begin. Nice for DH to see them as I've been to the 3 matches this week and even better he has DS3 with him.

I completely agree about the drink driving - I never drink at all if I'm driving (I dreamt last night that I had a crash and had been drinking, very odd) but would not drive the next day if I felt hungover.

Had my cuppa so off to the bedrooms now.

    *sigh*

I have been ironing for over 3 hours now and dont seem to have even dented the huge pile :(

I did a chunk from the pile and then ironed the load I found in the TD.
Ive put another load in the tumble dryer but I think thats mainly undies and things so Im hoping not too much ironing in there!!

I can see from the wardrobes Ive done a lot, but there is SOOO much more to do!!

Im taking a break from it for now to start on tea, just me and my boys tonight!

well done to those flying today!

    back later no doubt!

    Mrs B x

Mrs B - I used to have a pile like that - it was so bad that when OH and DD locked themselves out one day he put her through the utility room window that had been left open because she could land on the ironing heap. It was as high as the units and was not one pile but 2 . Now I only iron what is really needed like uniforms for us all or if we are going out for a special occasion. If things are folded right you can get away with not ironing most stuff. I cant believe how I used to do it all.

And I'm learning to fold T shirts like this http://fold-your-shirt.com/video/fold-your-shirt.mpg

Welcome MinnieMiss - hope youre tidier than my 10 year old!

Tashja - Sorry to hear about the meds making you feel so rough. I may have been AWOL when you had them before so not aware of what for. Hugs for you.

Drinking more tea now, well I just S/S the kitchen so it seemed the most natural thing to do next.

Need to go to Mr T but putting it off but if I go today then I can have all day tomorrow at home to do house stuff, oh and family stuff of course.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

  • Hi everyone.

Not much flying today as DD and family are here and DH is cooking tonight. Lemony chicken yum yum, followed by plum crumble.

Soappie please may I have my 5th star. I have done all the lists this week albeit on different days. My home is like a palace - well at least it was until DGD arrived. Never mind I love having her here; she is an absolute delight and very entertaining.

I am keeping busy sorting all my embroidery threads out as they have migrated to all parts of the house, in various project boxes, and I now don't know what I've got or not got IYSWIM. It is part of training myself to be tidier so I don't end up with rooms of doom again.

    Hugs where needed.

Hello ladies and gents. Can I join you all??

My life.... married 2 little girls aged 12 months and 31 months, me and OH work full time, I also run a small business from home. We live in a 2 bed home that is ok at the moment but very messy and cluttered. It isn't dirty just unorganised chaos.

I need to startto fly but don't really know where to start so can I read along and join in as I getthe jist of things?

:hello:Hi Lilacpixie, and welcome! Have a read of the first post, which will tell you all about the way this works. Our resident meeter and greeter toots is away at the moment, but I'm sure she'll send you a welcome pm when she's about again. Each day's list is posted the evening before, and is divided into Levels. I would suggest that you start with Level One, adding your own dailies (eg, washing up, packed lunches, laundry etc), and maye adding a declutttering mission as well. Although tidying when you have little ones is like someone says, shovelling snow in a blizzard! Do not try to play catch up, if you've had a busy day, as the rooms will come round again next week, and each week will see a small improvement.
