Rosepink - sorry I can't relate to what you're going through but wanted to send you massive hugs and coping vibes. It must be so hard to realise what's happening and be almost powerless to do anything. You are so strong though...you will get through this...remember we're hear for you xxxx
The internet is a fab thing....i've been googling and i'm convinced my mum has compulsive hoarding syndrome which is a part of OCD. It's great to know it's got a name as mad as that sounds. I've printed off a load of the stories i've found and i'm going to go round and see her. I'm also going to play on her love of family history and say i'm worried that I know very little about the family and would hate to 'lose' anything of importance (she's done years worth of research into our families past). I'm going to suggest we collate all the information and i'll type it into a book for her but first we need to sort it all. Method in my madness.
Fish finger sandwiches decluttered. Going to do HHI now and then take my DS to the park as he's much better now. I think it will do us both some good to get out. Then it's tamiflu mission for neighbour though i'm a bit concerned the car won't make it...it keeps over heating.
Roxy....how empty do you think I could make this house before people complained!!!! I've got visions of my DH, the children and the two dogs sitting on the floor in an empty room telling me i've gone to far!
I've just blitzed our bedroom and found some cat sick under the bed which made me burst into tears. I don't half miss that grumpy little moggy! xx0 -
Mudbath - I picture white walls, white wood floor, one outfit each for them to be washed on them while in the bath. Sitting on a stool each to watch tv and sleeping in a single bed each, and all food must be consumed outside the house therefore nothing new coming in. Oh and one of those roomba hoover things just wondering round the house sucking up any dust that may be created. Think we should call it expert minimalist. lol.0

Hello
Just cleaning out my SHED:eek:
popped in to say hi as I list stuff on freecycleDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Mudbath i was actually going to ask if your mum had OCD! My brother has it and he can be a bit of a nightmare. He has jars full of old bus tickets:eek: He is in Oz just now and needed his degree certificate for a job he was going for. I had to search through crates of stuff to find it for him, was amazed at all the crap he had hoarded. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Note to self - page 47
I am going to save the thread as a treat for later...I have done my Friday errnad and, as I am still in my muck I have attacked the shed.
I have popped in to list clutter on freecycle...
wellies size 5 and size 2 (outgown but perfectly servicable), my Flymo mower which needs a minor repair, girls school trousers (No takers in the swap shop) a car battery charger I didn't know I had - probable exOHs and a big shovel that's heavy (a real man's shovel - too heavy for me) I have a feeling that too was OHs but 'borrowed' from a previous job IYSWIM
I am also going to sort through the buckets and spades and take them into work - I might be really kind and wash them first!
just having a :coffee: gas man on his way (from Matlock Bath)
Kids had a great time on the rides - The Big One and Bling (5 times:eek: I couldn't watch!) plus others so at £20 a wristband we were down to about £2 a ride!:money:Bling was the favourite...
I chatted to lots and lots of people who, like me, were sitting watching...(and if you park OUTSIDE the pleasure beach it's £1 less than inside LOL)
Jinky take your microfibre cloths and stardrops in case you get the Flylady urge again! I was near Dazco yesterday as I went to Blackpool (well the Pleasure Beach!:rotfl:)
the drive up was shocking BTW the rain was so bad - I missed a turning cos I couldn't see the signs properly and had to turn off the motorway, go back down the other side by which time I was totally disorientated :rotfl:
Good run back though and the weather was sunny (but breezy!)
Intriguingly someone has asked for EVERY ITEM listed as they are 'moving house' next week!
(more like running a car boot /stall - they must think I am green as grass!)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Valli, I would be sitting watching too
I did when me and Daz took our respective DD's to the shows on the Pier:rotfl: even they are too much for me:D:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

Love it - and pigpen's pig back again :jGoing to make lunch and then fill another charity bag. You do realise my children are going to be posting on here in twenty years time saying 'my mum has a problem....she won't keep ANYTHING....her house is EMPTY!!!':rotfl:xx

Lunch decluttered, half a twix decluttered -comfort food
I want to get on with DS2's room after lunch but DS3 is being a pest so I'll play in the garden for 30 minutes on the understanding he is then not a pest whilst I do DS2 room. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I had that - I waited for 24 hours, gave away the individual items to the people who requested them, and then offered the remnants to the person who wanted them all... at least they were gone!
I also try to remember to post items individually/in small groups of related items and put a bit of a sales pitch in as people are very unimaginative e.g. 4 tin plates, plastic beaker, metal waterbottle - ideal for camping!he has them already:j:j:j:T:T:T:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
And they will get used:D
You're very strange... I thought you said you hated housework0
