You might say the set up is wrong I will say IT IS EXPENSIVE TO HAVE SET UP LIKE THAT AND IF I WANT TO PAY £3 PER PINT I WILL GO TO FANCY BAR!
Can we drop the matter now please????? Or at least start reading all of my posts?
Fine we can drop it, although I have read all of your posts and this is the first time you have acknowledged that our difference of opinion is to do with technology rather than the product being purchased.
Now, more imporantly, the price of a pint is shocking, £3 per pint is what I would expect in a surburban local. Over £5 per pint is quite regular for city bars.
Spearmint Rhino - more like £7.50 for a bottle of beer which is closer to a half pint :mad:0 -
I agree and disagree with this argument...
I also slow stooze. Pay for most of my spending on credit card. BUT... there are limits.
For meal I would pay by card. To buy 2 beers and a glass of coke I wouldn't.
Of course it is easy to solve problem of understaffing and high charges in the pubs - but who is going to pay for it?
I seriously doubt the landlord is.
Yes right, it's going to be us. That is why lot of pubs don't accept cards just for drinks. Or up to certain amount. They cannot afford to put up prices, but they cannot afford to take the plunge either.
Well, I was reffering to the cost of technology more then anything else..
But I am glad we are sorted:D0 -

Even local bars struggle to perform at £3 per pint! I'd love to be paying that - Stella is £4.20 at my local and in city its well over a fiver - as for spearmint rhinos - !!!!!!?
Thats just showing off Nick, posh sod going to spearmint! i'd suggest you frequent the little dodgy sports bar or colluseum which are both cheaper! :rotfl: :rotfl:2010 - year of the troll

See you there. I'll buy you a beer with my 0% card and hold up all the other drinkers :beer:0 -
I have family members who work in pubs so I get my alcohol at heavily discounted prices. £1 a pint :rotfl:.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I always use a card rather than cash, you can see where your money is. Having worked in a number of pubs, it really doesn't make much difference and it's safer then carrying cash. Saying that when you have a slow card machine it's a whole different issue. Somewhere else I used to work they always added a 30p charge under a fiver, as the merchant charge was 27p, people would still pay on card even if it was only gum and quite often you can see the money in their wallet, they just can't be bothered to count! That's illogical.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
