Maybe next they'll bring in statute saying that all must be served within 68 seconds or a free beer is yours....

Yay, this is what we want

Hopefully we can also go retrospective and claim back for all the pints that we paid for that took longer than 68 seconds to pour ;)

    I worked in a supermarket.
Cash: Press total button, customer hands over cash, enter the amount given and you give change and receipt.
Card: Press total button, tell customer to put card in machine (or if they hand it over put it in myself), they enter PIN, give ONE receipt (and don't put any in the till).

Cash takes pretty much the same time as card, and for cashiers slow at counting change card is quicker. And I am talking about small transactions on the kiosk similar to that of a pub.

I challenge you to tell me the limitations of this system working in a pub besides "drunk people can't remember their PIN"

Any, I am in full agreement with this.

You never responded to me when I asked why a busy bar was a more problematic scenario for card purchases to a busy petrol station.

I think that the problem is down to the card machine at your particular bar and it not being linked to the till. There should be no one having to fumble with anything, and if the customer is to drunk to type in his PIN then he (or she) should not be served in the first place.

I would have thought you would have been in favour of something like that, going from some of your previous posts.

Not at all. I am anti banks and anti CRA's etc because they abuse the consumer and the rights of the consumer. I have nothing against pubs and believe it or not, this may shock you somewhat, i'm not a whinger and never really moan that much. However when it comes to the subject of credit, specifically consumer related debt then yes, I will hold my hands up and shout aloud that it is rubbish and needs changing.

Sorry, your views don't acutely represent fact of my beliefs.

BUT in light of this I would be prone to starting a steering group designed to get us served in less than 2 minutes and for bar staff to let us pay with whatever card we want! lol

Nick, have you been to the sports bar then, is it you that I keep bumping into there? hahaha

    Quite possibly

I ended up in Spearmint Rhino once, that was a quick way to dispose of any extra cashback that I had procured for stoozing ;)

Right, are we talking about the same scenario here??

Because I am talking about SMALL local, where we still even heat by having the fire place on!!

As I said before, if I go to fancy place I will also pay by card, but if I go to my LOCAL, which is working on the type of machine I described - then I won't pay by card!!!!!!

You might say the set up is wrong I will say IT IS EXPENSIVE TO HAVE SET UP LIKE THAT AND IF I WANT TO PAY £3 PER PINT I WILL GO TO FANCY BAR!

As I said on the beginning, I agree and disagree, depending on the situation!!

Re: your question about fuel station - again, fuel stations are up to date with the technology and their profit margin allow them to be!!

Can we drop the matter now please????? Or at least start reading all of my posts?

hahahahahahah - yea baby! How do you know what the Sports Bar is..... lol

Spearmin isn't that good, yea the totty is higher calibre but then you are just paying to have a seat in a porche as opposed to sitting in a ermm, mini!

However, sports bar is handy - I remember some dirty old man dropping them at the pit asking the girl to grab it! She done more than that - she yanked it and pulled him out the door - that was the funniest 3 minutes of my life! Hilarious to watch a grown man pulled from a club by a nude bird pulling his tool.....

Oh, this was 2pm as well...... imagine the locals

God yes. For J Smiths anyway.

Perhaps this brings up your and mine difference in the sense of the word LOCAL.
I only live in small village you see, unless they serve food they don't even have card terminals here.
