Yes mate cos has to be a real name but will sort it later.......

I'm in a dispute over debt laws with a bank manager - how ironic that he is part of the cause and I am part of the effect!

Had just been reading Bosie's thread... bloody hell that whip does it for me :rotfl:
Just had a read of the other regarding Co-op.
Why do all banks seem to think that they are above the law and little 'customer' will just back down and take whatever is thrown their way.
    Think again :rotfl:

It is a bank thing mate - what's funniest is that a bank manager thinks he knows about the consumer side of law...... (in fairness, being from Barclays this equates to half a real bank manager so we'll bear that in mind)...

Anyhow I won't be biatchy..... we all have problems :rotfl: :rotfl:

Somthing else of interest! Of the 19 people so far that has clicked 6yrs, at least each of them have hung out in sub prime or DFW boards - hmmmm that speaks volumes! Does it? Just because they have visited a board does not mean they have issues - yet another assumption on your part.

Maybe they should find themselves suddenly out of work and then rely on using a credit card to pay for little suzies new school shoes and food on the table - perish the thought of the alternative and let her starve and sod the pets, in fact I know i'll pay my bank back and just cook the ruddy pets eh? Sound like a plan....! You sound so bitter sometimes, I feel a little sorry for you.

As I've mentioned before, you do seem to be quite savvy in some areas regarding CRAs yet you seem completely blinkered to any other opinions - posters that don't agree with you are jumped on and shouted down - yet your buddies that agree share in-jokes and back slapping matey chatter.

I do not agree with your stance - CRAs are a necessary evil. Technology and consumer demand necessitates adequate tracking of peoples financial situations to facilitate informed decision making for financial institutions.

If information held is inaccurate then individuals have a right to have this investigated.

For the vast majority of the population the information held will be correct - it may reflect circumstances which you feel will be seen as undesirable to other financial institutions but that is not their fault they are merely reflecting the history of each account.

Hell, I look in the mirror sometimes and see a new wrinkle - I don't like it but I don't blame the mirror as it is purely reflecting the reality of the situation.

You are bitter and twisted - I feel very sorry for you as I bet you sit alone with your jealousy festering and eating away at your soul.

Have you thought about Botulinum Toxin injections? It is relatively inexpensive compared to other procedures available and it does last some months before wearing off.

Get a 0% credit card and you'll save money should you require to pay it by installments.

Am new but still entitled to an opinion and think youre wrong.

I've spend a few days reading this and notice nid has helped loads of people on here including me (indirectly) and if you see what he writes up for people youll see that your post is inaccurate because he definately isnt blinkered.

Youre just being silly and most people will no doubt agree with nid anyway cos hes probably helped them out before something you seem to lack

Bitter and twisted..erm no..I will leave that to you thanks. :p
Had you bothered to read my other posts you would see the 'damage' that can be caused through circumstances which are occasionally beyond a persons control.
As stated I have been a responsible user of credit for nigh on 25 years never missing a payment for the first 20 years then BANG!! something happens and before you know it a scumbag DCA has registered a default and the 'lovely' CRA's report this 'blip' for 6yrs.
I was able to rectify the matter within months BUT no deal..the default must stay. Since then I have also NEVER missed a payment but despite all those impeccable years of paying on time I am labelled as a 'risk'
As stated in earlier post, circumstances can change for the worst AT ANY TIME hence the reasons why many people find themselves in similar situations.
I am definitely not sitting alone festering over anything, very happy with my life, more than enough money and credit available to fulfil my needs but having seen both sides of the coin I am on the side of the consumer..Not bully boy DCA's and credit reference agencies who don't bother to check whether any data is indeed factual.
One minor computer error is all it takes to trash a persons credit file for years and in many cases the individual concerned may not even be aware of the facts until it is too late.
In 1990 I had an account with RBS..cheque book, £50 guarantee card, I then wanted an interest paying current account which at time offered £1000 overdraft as standard plus the option of £100 highline card, I asked and was approved IMMEDIATELY in branch, no silly credit checks, same with my Access card, application countersigned by branch lending manager with no hassle.
Those were the days, manager having the power to grant facilities without having to rely on a computer decision.
I am probably far more financially savvy now with age but because of those blasted defaults I couldn't walk into my present bank and come out with a 5k loan despite being more than able to repay it.
That's WHY the laws do need to be changed and the 'reporting' period shortened to allow for the fact that life changes. 6Yrs is way too long and trust me, should you ever be faced with the same situation being penalised more than a street mugger or burglar you will soo change your tune.
I would love to see DCA's go to the wall, their staff on the scrapheap, mortgages and bills to pay with no money coming in.
Not bitter or twisted...poetic justice my dear :D
