    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Thanks Kez1

I agree on your points and do not think abuse on the phone is a good thing.

However when you get on average every 2 weeks on Sunday a call from India for a mobile phone company then we have the right to get seriously peeved notably when we've been asking them nicely to get the number off the list for many months.

This is strange because we are already blocking withheld numbers but those are getting through!
    MFW on your mark
  • I work in a mobile phone shop sometimes and do connections and so forth and obviously know the way that T-Mobile handle connections, contracts etc.

I keep getting calls from someone called John Smith or Dave Jones (who I usually get out of them are calling from India) - a lot of the T-mobile services are in Sunbury by the way! Always goes the same way and I usually have to be quite stern to stop them going through their sales patter. I always get rid of them very quickly by saying I work in a shop and would much rather take the commision myself for my own contract and they usually hang up!

I got so fed up with Toucan Telecom I actually agreed to there callplan. When they took details , I told them my name was "F*** Off and dont call me again"

I now get the occassional phonecall asking to talk to mr f*** off.

    Its funny

Also got so fed up with a stairlift company , I arranegd to meet them, they were a little bemused whne they turned up at our bungalow. He still went through the sales pitch and we agreed terms pending a site survye.

They even sent some poor sod to survey the stairs we didnt have.

I tend to leave most phone calls to the answerphone nowadays........not always a good thing as when my friend phones she never leaves a message...hates answerphones......thats annoying......and when my mother rings it sounds like Darth Vader on the other end...and then she just puts the phone down usually without leaving a message.

Mike Smith from Bombay phones me quite alot aswell! I am generally polite, now just say I'm not interested...if they carry on talking I cut the call off. Haven't got the time to keep them hanging on for ages....winding them up.........its a waste of my time as well.

OH usually gets phone calls from marketing companies..he usually keeps the person talking whilst unplugging the phone socket from the wall...... :p

someone correct me if i'm wrong but as far as i know the tps code only applies to call centres in this country, so even when you register with them you can still be called by indian call centres and the like.

dont know what you can do with those!just persist with asking to be taken off the records (thats actually better than just saying 'not interested')and if the same comapy keeps calling ask to speak to a manager!

My wife received one of these unsolicited calls yesterday, unfortunately for them they caught her in a rather unhappy mood as she'd just got up!!!

So, upon the person starting to speak she said "I'm sorry I didn't ask you to call, I'm fed up with you all, go away!!!" and hung up, no swearing, a bit on the shouty side, but not too rude.

Less than a minute later the phone rang, it was the same person who said "Don't be so rude" then hung up!!!

Unbelievable, being chastised by a cold caller lol

I think BT may be able to trace who called (despite the unknown number rubbish) so it may be worth checking up on it and finding the name of the company and getting that idiot (i could think of worse names) the sack

What an arrogant so and so
