I hope the next year and decade bring you all that you wish for DC.

Full of positivity this morning. No hangover because I enjoyed an alcohol free NYE, first one since I was in my teens ! Got a sweet text from 'butterfly boy' before midnight, put a smile on my face :)

Have plans to mooch today. Must get the list of things I want to acheive in the coming months out of my head and on to paper/screen.

Attempt at housework is constantly thwarted by these teenagers, so I'm getting by on the bare minimum, let them eat cake as they say !

Anyway Christmas Eve is 51 weeks away, best start planning now !

Hope you are all good :)

Hurrah for positivity and butterfly texts!!

I am looking forward to this year........time for me to put some things to bed, so to speak and to move forward. That can only be a good thing for me, so I just have to be strong and do it, so that I can start reaping and sharing the benefits.

I wish you a very happy and healthy (and fluttery!) 2010 xx

Today is my last official day of slobbing. Decided I'm not even cooking tonight. Mini men fancy a Chinese take-away, and to be honest so do I !
Decided the house can be re assembled tomorrow. Really being naughty but don't care. Within a month I'll be running around, dropping off, picking up, aching for some time out so decided to make the most of it.

  • *Warning, possible pongy problem in Dorset.*
15 year old DS presented me with PE Kit yesterday. This PE Kit hasn't been seen in this house since mid November, it's contents will be released into utility romm within the next hour. Please close all windows and doors in local vicinity until threat has been removed.

Right today. Aside from above :

Tree down and back in loft. Am tempted to keep white fairy lights up in living room as it creates lovely atmostphere. But then it won't be special next year ?

Serious attempt at kitchen windows, are totally disgusting, yesterdays sunshine looked like fog to me !

Give Dyson a full work out, everywhere needs attention.

Clean toilets and bathroom, wash all towels.

If I can acheive that today, along with dropping son off/picking up at work, Tescos delivery and walking dog, cooking roast chicken with the lot I will be a happy person. It will mean I can start to get to nitty gritty stuff when they go back to school on Tuesday.

On the financial front, payday is 2 weeks away. I have phone bill, council tax and water rates to pay. Will be tight.

Next post will list my aims for 2010 - honest.

My tree etc is coming down today.......but I have already done my windows (for the first time in years, I think) and that on its own really did make a difference, so I suppose I had better do them again in due course

Good luck with the "risk to life" stuff going on in your utility room - I can relate to it, totally!!

  • My problem is I get all inspired and motivated, full of bright ideas and debt busting mania and then I don't follow through. Example, cancelling lovefilm last month, creating a saving of over £144 a year. Have I done it ? no. Not only do I procrastinate - which is an energy sapping activity in itself - but I allow obstacles to stop me in full flow. Life happens and the sooner I get over that the more pro active I'll be.

    So my aims for 2010:
    1. Get Things Done. Lots of little unfinished jobs around the house, all totally doable. Things I used to nag DH about, and now look at me .

    2. Get a new, better paid job.

    3. Kick start my flagging OU career, register and complete a 10 point course to remove study ban.

    4. Declutter. This is a huge job. Many of DH's things are involved here. That will be emotional and hardwork, but He would tell me to stop being so silly. Hanging on to things that were worthless to him, so why am I fretting about it ? It needs to be done.

    5. Stop smoking woman ! Been banging on about it for months.

    6. Continue on the alcohol free route.

    7. Be me, don't try and justify who you are. Be happy with me. (A bit of a deep one, because I feel very pigeon holed by events of the last 2 years, think it may be my thinking not others.)

    8. Don't stop learning to budget, only way to debt freedom is to work at it. I'm not going to win the lottery - because I don't do it.

    9. Menu planning. Takes all the pressure and last minute dashes to supermarkets out. Use the slow cooker at least twice a week, gives me time to do stuff, leaves my early evenings free.

This is all very me based, (right thinking eh Hypno :) because if I'm alright the children are alright.

That's all for starters, there's plenty more. I'm sure.
