Hope all goes well Weds, my last promotion I wasnt expecting to get so went to the interview with the idea that it would be good practice for the future. Was completely shocked when I was successful and I think it was because I was so relaxed as I went with the idea that the interview was purely for practice.
Good luck with your other applications too x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

Today I received a phone call from a company requesting my presence at an interview early next week, caught on the hop, having forgotten I'd applied in early December. The time and date was inconvienient and incredibly short notice so that suited the negative side of me perfectly. Because after all I'm not going to get it anyway, it's too far for me too travel, what about the kids, etc etc. Long and short of it ended up in me actually declining the interview to begin with...
*Wet fish - Slap*
...but they phoned back with an alternative time and day I could make.
We are talking an extra £7000 a year, what is the matter with me ? I'm not happy where I am. I can do so much better ! Why on earth do I not think I'll get it ? So I'm trying to find my self esteem, and something to wear !
Sort it out Different cornerIf you dont go and dont try to sell yourself and believe it then why would they give you the job ? Think of what that extra 7k a year could do. Good luck

PAF, Thanks for that post, I will wade through this pile of clutter and non sensical rubbish before I end up like Mr Trebus from Grimebusters...
Penguin - That was my plan, out of all three applied for I don't really want Wednesdays job, it means an extra 400 miles travelling a month, for someone that at present walks to work, plus the hours are not what I thought. I'm not entirely sure I'll attend the interview now, I could go for 'practice' reasons only, but I have a parents evening aswell and it's going to be tight an all fronts. Getting there on time and back - in time. Not a fear thing a gut thing.
Claire - thankyou, I am in the positive team at the moment. I think it was dear Buffy that said on her diary that she's not doing 'unhappy' anymore.
Tis time for tea and a catch up.DC.

OK, tune of the day is Dog Days Are Over - Florence and the Machine, can only thank Ch4 for their constant playing of it that I had to look up the lyrics and realise you have to turn them into something you want them to mean. So the dog days are over.... gonna stop hiding.
Progress :
Slow cooker plan is working. Totally awesome response from mini men re slow cooked lamb chops last week - special thanks to OS board for recipe. Can add that to repetoire (sp?) Brisket of beef going in tomorrow. Will attempt a veggie curry ('a la Nigel Slater) for myself this week.
Job hunting underway with some positive results.:T
Have been alcohol free since December 30th.:j
Plans for today involve a declutter of paperwork piles/folders.
Look at OU course options.
More job hunting, world is my oyster.DC.

Progress is excellent, DC! Long may the positivity continue.
For what its worth, I DO think you should go to Wednesday's interview - you never know, you might decide it is what you want after all, but if you don't go, you will never have that choice to make!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. DC, that is fantastic news about the interview! Good luck, I usually find that I get offered jobs when I'm not as desperate, stay calm, remember the firm hand shake at the end and thank them for their time! Good luckDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Hi Dc, is everything ok.
Just suddenly thought this am, have you heard of an organisation called WAY (Widowed and Young). Not sure if it would be of interest. I was thinking about it myself today for some unknown reason. I heard about it somehow after my dh situation. You need to be 50 or under and a widow/widower through whatever scenario. The local meeting point for me was about 45 mins away. I did go to a handful of events in the aftermath of my dh situation, however, dd and work were always my priority and getting to the events became an issue when tiredness, getting a babysitter got in the way. They had days out with the children too. It was helpful at the time and it might be something that would help you if it was approp. For me, Im realising that all I want to do when I am not working is enjoy dd and our home and see the family and friends I have near by, and to find room for anything else other than the gym on a regular basis is quite a thing! That said, it was also the fact that they were all dealing with their grief, when I went, I still had the trial hanging over me and it was all a bit strange! But, thought I would mention it to you!My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)
May 2013 £124,080.27= £37,903.50 paid off WOW!!!!! Well done! There is a guardian angel out there! :AI'm visualising success, debt freeness, and happy days!:T0
