I like your aims, DC, good thinking. I am sure this will be a better year for you. Now cancel the Lovefilm sub NOW, and that will be one job done before 9AM.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Hi (de lurks for a moment) I notice that you say you have bills to pay ie quaterly bills, have you thought about spreading this bills by direct debit? I find this really helps me and takes the pressure out of bills arriving. Ignore me if this is what you already do.
As for smoking this is sooo hard I feel for you. Have you asked the doctor for some help rather than struggling on your own?
Good luck with your list0 -
Keeping Motivated, I understand what you are saying, but I just don't get on with direct debits, some of income (DH's pension/CB) is 4 weekly and therefore staggers throughout the year. The one payment that is on a regular date is totally swallowed up by current DD's. I have to work something out, I have dedicated piggies but they have been starved over the last month.
Progress report, tree down awaiting DS2 's assistance in moving to loft.
Lovefilm cancelled !DC.

I know what you mean about the 4 weekly pay it can get confusing.
What I do is work out how much I need for ALL direct debits for the month then I have a bills account and a spending account. I have a transfer set up from spending account so it goes into the bills account to cover all DDs then I know what is left in the spending account is for either spending or maybe trasfer some to a savings account.
Plus that way it works out that oncce per year I have a free wage iyswim.
Since I have done this it makes my life soooo much less stressful.
I hope I have explained that properly.
Well done cancelling Lovefilm0 -

Well done :T:T:T
I cancelled mine last month and managed to get the films back with one day to spare  I've signed up to them and cancelled 3 times now, just take advantage of an offer then when that's up get rid, very tiring, not going to do it anymore. I wouldn't mind, I don't even like films :rotfl:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
KM - Thanks for that and it does all make sense. You can actually see what you have. One day I will be that organised. At the moment I am living in OD land
.
Jo, trouble is we love films, on 'day of slobbing' yesterday we watched 3 ! And loved every minute.
Further progress, decs and tree all in loft, fridge deculttered and cleaned while waiting for Mr.T. Was about to start kitchen windows but I know Mr T will arrive halfway through.
Problem though, an expensive one. Whilst in loft I try to shut my eyes and ignore the fact the roof lining is past it's best. It will cost £6000. I can't afford it. There are pin !!!!! holes where you can see daylight, is shredded in some places. It is causing minor damp spot in DS1's room. I will have to deal with it one day.
Onward...DC.

Excellent progress so far :T I've taken down and packed up the decorations but have yet to go up in the loft. Sorry to read that there is work to be done up there - I am sure no water can get to my rooms though, as it would have to penetrate through tonnes of [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] stuff we are storing before it could possibly reach any ceiling joists
Seriously, though, I hope it is not too bad and will last long enough for you to raise the money - could you set yourself a challenge to raise the cash by a certain date?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Morning
Re roof, I wouldn't have known anything about it unless man who attended to chimeny (sp?) flashings last year hadn't mentioned it and given me ball park figure. Having seen it I am concerned but not too worried. It's something I know will have to be done, but can't let it bother me, universe and all that.
So the boys have another day off, I have to venture out there with the dog in half an hour and then go to work. My boss is one of those that doesn't let you take your coat off before launching into a tirade of what needs to be done. Then I shall nod sweetly and get on with it before politely hearing how bad/busy/demanding/selfish her family were this Christmas.
Don't get me wrong I'm not in a negative mood, just prepared for the events and want to get the first day back over with. Because then I can come home and job search with avengance !
Kitchen windows weren't acheived yesterday, bills need to be paid today.
Need to get on the declutter bandwagon, enough talking about it, back to the 10 things a day plan I think.
I hope you all have an easy day back in the swing.
Just another 10 minutes catching up though...DC.
