Morning DC,
How's the carpet?
Your plan sounds sensible. That's the great thing about spreadsheets and snowballs, playing with them and working on different scenarios, they are works in progress.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Morning Scrooge,
Carpet ok thanks, is a faint mark, quite pleased with bicarb results.
Yep different scenarios, different snowballs it's all positive, best thing is being honest with myself.DC.

Hello world !
Well despite lack of funds I had to call a plumber in to see to the nasty bathroom shower mixer tap, has been slowly getting worse over the last month to the point of not being able to turn it off. Been putting it off because I know we are talking £200 here.
This is the reason I need to get an emergency fund going. Although I won't get the bill for another month, this has really put the proverbial cat amongst the flying things.
So I've had to use the plastic for a couple of bills. It's all sort of snowballed since of my car park bump which set me back £230.
I know life happens and these things occur, I just don't budget for them.
So I am officially skint even though it's payday on Friday. It's already gone.
There is talk at work of possible closure. Not good. But it is only a rumour from an outside source.
I've job searched today have one earmarked, but still need to get a printer to get this CV off.
I have to get things moving. Wating for plumber to call today so will get on with painting woodwork and ironing.
Positive vibes needed.DC.

Hi DC, I have just caught up on your diary and want to pass my sympathies about your gran, hope you and your mum are doing OK.
Also, I can see that you have been getting a bit down, you need to have a look through the first pages of your diary, and the inspirational and positive thoughts that you were having, and remember that you have already made alot of progress, and the situation isnt as bad as it might have been.
Hope you have a good day, and that the plumber isnt too harsh! xxPay £15k by Xmas10 £1478.19/£15000[STRIKE]24/07/09[/STRIKE] present - loan - £8550 overdraft#1 - [STRIKE]£2516.87[/STRIKE] £0 credit card - [STRIKE]£1210 [/STRIKE] £0TOTAL - [STRIKE]£12276.87[/STRIKE] £9133.63:T0 -
Hi DC,
Like Kirstenc says, be kind to yourself, and focus on the progress you have made. A lot of negative events are happening all together, and it's natural to feel fed up, especially when you have been trying so hard to turn things around.
Keep plodding on though, and the good times will come again. Sending you lots of positive vibes.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
hi DC - lots of worrying things on the horizon by the sound of that. I think you are doing the right thing applying for other jobs while you are still in work!
Things will come right - it is going to take time tho. I know what you mean about abandoning the 1000 day challenge. I wanted to be debt free by my 40th birthday next year - that unfortunately isn't realistic anymore but eventually we will get there!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well the title of this thread is rubber ball and I am up and down. Unfortunately, it is a down time. Letter from bank yesterday, requesting I call the credit review team.
Slightly apprehensive, yes. But I called them, been with them for over 25 years, in the red more than the black. Gentle warning that I seem to be living in my OD, towards the max rather than the other end. Went through the budget, suggestion that perhaps 'we should look at reducing the overdraft over a period of time.' Great timing.
They did however cancel the £12 a month charge for having an 'advantage' account which was part of my decent loan interest rate two years ago. 27 payments left on that. Interest rate stays the same.
Not going down without a fight. You are all right, back in July I was ready to take the world on.
Off to find my boxing gloves.DC.
