Glad you had some good sleep - the last couple of nights I have had some really strange dreams and have had very disturbed sleep! I don't normally dream (unless I have taken a sleeping pill or two) so don't really understand why two nights in a row I have been dreaming.

Bloomin' brain won't switch off

Enjoy the peace and quiet today :D The mini marbles challenge is coming along nicely too - I have 17 days until payday......and it can't come a moment too soon!!

Just logged on to Lightspeed 4 surveys waiting for me, and I didn't match the criteria for one single one ! Unusual.

I was screened out of three as well - I got well through one of them which was most annoying, but the other two told me fairly well straight away.

Annoying, though - I like the fact that you can cashin easily rather than waiting to hit a ridiculously high payout threshold!

Well done on your alcohol free days. I have been trying to cut right back too, and noticed that the last couple of nights when I have had a good drink (saving it for the weekend), I haven't slept well either. Dehydrated, with a headache in the morning. Must remember that feeling, next time I am tempted to over indulge.

Sounds like the month is continuing to progress really well. I'm very impressed with your ironing basket. My problem is not with the ironing basket, but with the washing cupboard, which I am frightened to open for fear of being buried alive as the mountain of clothes descends on me, like an avalanche.

Hope today is a really productive day.

  • Scrooge,
I do feel so much better in the mornings. It's not that I was getting plastered each night, or going to some bad place trying to drown my sorrows, it was just that it seemed 'normal' at 6pm while cooking dinner to have half a lager. Now that's fine if you're chatting with your DH about the day etc etc, but I wasn't.

Alcohol dependent as Jeremy Kyle would say. 2 or 3 cans a night. Not good for two young teenagers to see and think it was normal.

Soon as I had the first one then I couldn't drive anywhere, if needed. So I'm on the wagon for at least the whole of September.

  • Over the last week I have detected a faint smell of gas in my kitchen, nobody else could smell it, thought I was going mad. I haven't got a gas cooker, just an old pipe behind electric cooker. Well this morning it was very noticeable.

Called emergency no and he was here within 30 minutes, capped it. Here was I stressing about gas being turned off, or worse sudden explosions and no house. (Yes I am a bit of a panic pants.)

Another 'little' but important job to cross off.

Note to self - am a big girl now.

A whole month on the wagon, good for you. Think you are right though, if you are trying to break a habit.

That's what can be quite frustrating for me. It seems so easy to pick up a bad habit and a huge effort to establish good ones.

But, Sassy September is going well for me too, and I am more determined than ever to reach my goals. No room for a defeatist attitude.

Enjoy the rest of the day. Hope you are having some me time.
