    Evening all,

Happy Birthday to Haribo, Hermoine, Sunnygirl and Patchwork Cat:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:Its a good day, DS1 and DDIL1 have been nine years married to-day....sent them a congratulatory text as they are in Japan and turned out that they had forgotten....where has romance gone I ask you!

FE...glad that everything is going so well for you babywise, take it easy and try not to stress. Your dad will settle I am sure, hope that your mum is ok.

Squiggly....hope that you enjoyed your day, congratulations.

Ruby....glad that you enjoyed your fish....I think that the Aussies are so well off for sustainable fish around their coastline that they would never think of having anything from as far away as Vietnam.

Snowy....glad to see you back with us....don't let the next job go to your head so much that you neglect us....

Reverbe.....dismayed to hear the haddock is now on the 'do not buy' list...have been buying it instead of cod for ages....aw well, will have to stick to mackerel from now on...

    bargainbird...what a lovely little boy....

Having a 'senior moment' and can't remember whose OH has lost 7 stone....good on him, especially for keeping it off.

Have had a few bird casualties over the years, but am now afraid that they will avoid us to avoid the cats....I guess that while OH feeds them they will stay with us.

Did a 200 mile round trip this morning to take DD2 and girls to a friend's house, they are all off to the sea for a week, so we will not be told off for forgetting to close the gate at night....traffic was bad on way back and the return journey took an hour longer that first half.

Have a funeral on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, cousin's husband collapsed on Monday last, taken to hospital and died yesterday...she is devastated but all her family are round her, will see her on Sunday.

Everybody ate as and when they wanted to to-day, I am still promising myself a large sandwich as ate at lunchtime but am hungry now...need to put some bread to prove too as we haven't got very much.

DD4 has accepted the job offer she got last week, its not the one near DGS's school but that is not being offered for about another 2 weeks and she has worked in this school before and likes it...will be a big journey for her in the mornings, but she is not anxious to change DGS as it is only a 12 month contract so she could be anywhere next year....many of her classmates have been offered no job at all yet, so she feels very lucky, but she did apply for anything that was going. She feels that she will be very rich, having survived on very little money over last 4 years....she will have to pay tax, etc which will take a nice big slice of her salary, but she will still be much better off.

Halight....glad that things are looking up for you.

Have a nice weekend everybody, hugs to all in need or want, welcome to all newbies

  • Evening (again) well my attempt at being artisic didn't quite go as well as I had hoped it would.:o

As I said I hadn't planned on posting but decided I had to as there are so many birthdays. I then managed to read todays thread in full something I hadn't managed to do for some time(have dipped in and out though)

I was once again rather fed up to read personal, nasty and very very uncalled for comments by Reverbe.

I can honestly say that this is a supportive and caring community I know that there are some of us(I am proud to include myself as a member of this community) are expert cooks, some of us have reasonable bank balances, some less so, some of us have health issues, some of struggle to get through the day, some of us are unhappy, some happy, some fantastic cooks some not so good. In short we are all different with different likes and needs.
However what we all have in common is the desire to try and make things better be thst for family, community or just to think that we have had a good day.

Reverbe ,I don't know if you really know what you are doing or if (as I suspect) in some way you feel you need to say hurtful and inflammatory things to get a reaction. Why? You had loads of advice and support when you discussed the problems you were having with your OH the posters were also delighted when you made contact with them.
There is really no need to spark debate or at least spark debate without the personal comments. Isn't life hard enough for everyone.
But once again the talk is based upon comments regarding some one you have never met and has never done you any harm. Anyway enough.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that sent wishes and PM's both mrs CM and I were touched by your kindness.
Things are not too wonderful here my wife is poorly(not my cooking!) and we have some worries regarding other family members.
Take care and have a good weekend.
    CM.

One very tired Aussie here this morning. I couldn't seem to sleep. Bed was empty. :D Finally drifted off and DH got home. Then it took forever to go back. Had to get up early as Benny was carrying on to be let outside. DH usually does this when he wakes up at 5am. Might have a Ninny nap this arv. :D DH is still snoring soundly.

I've thrown a load of washing in as it's beautiful blue skies here again today. :p Need to make a loaf of bread later. I've also got to hem the 2 jeans I bought yesterday for DH. I hate that job.

Patchwork Cat Happy Birthday. You share it with some lovely peeps. :D
Marie That's great news about DD4. Sorry to about your loss. It will be a shock for her.
tired mum Enjoy your vino. You deserve it hun. :D
Ruby I knew you were a dare devil. :D
bargain bird Your pictures were lovely. YOur kids are gorgeous. Loved the snow pictures too. It looked freezing.
Reverbe You learn something new every day. I didn't know that about haddock. If you were that green & friendly, may I suggest you don't eat any fish.

    Sleep well. :D Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

I only seem to do one post a week, all that real life stuff gets in the way :D

Been a strange week for me, work has been.....errrrrrrr.....interesting :eek:

Oh has been out all week, did a delivery to Skye yesterday, was really jealous when he put the webcam on last night to show the scene from his window! he's on his way back down now and should be home lunch timeish so that will be nice.

OS wise I have caught up on the muddy washing from last weekend and afraid have done something on toast for me all week, am not very good at cooking for one, delved into the freezer but couldn't find any 1 portion stuff for me.

Going to do a blitz later (as in when I wake up!) as need to get things sorted, going into hosp on thursday, should be a day surgery but maybe an overnighter, will prob need to be off work the next week so want to lie on sofa for a week knowing that everthing is sorted.

Happy birthday, aniv, etc to those who celebrated this week, and for those who are celebrating next week in case I don't manage to get on. Oh and congrats and ((((hugs)))) for all the other stuff xxxx I know there is loads of stuff I have missed and am real sorry, I do read, but things fall out me head! :rotfl:

One thing I have to say is that I am very ungreen and unfriendly when it comes to fish, I love huss, can't get it here, only eat it when I go back down south to visit rellies, so thats me travelling 250 miles to eat me fave fish :rotfl:
whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

    Stopped smoking 20:30 28/09/11 :D
