Bitsy - seven stone is amazing. Well done to him.
Halight - I hope your headache goes soon. I think you cope really well.
Redruby - what a great idea about the CDs. I have loads that I don't know what to do with, so I shall definitely do that. The conservatory is huge with great big expanses of glass, so I suspect we shall need to stick a few up. Thanks for the suggestion; will let you know how we get on. I rushed out yesterday when I heard the familiar thump on the glass and, sadly, actually watched the dying moments of a thrush, which really upset me. They really are stunning birds. We have swifts, sparrows, wagtails, coal-tits, black red-starts, blackbirds, woodpeckers - that come really close to the house and peck the fenceposts! - and lots of birds of prey (they don't come close, but we can see them circling above), as well as some that we hear but don't see.
Well, I still haven't plugged the iron in but I have put everything ready to make a start! Off for another coffee first.
See you all later.

sad to hear about the poor dead birds, when my girls were little they used to have a mag called animals of fathing wood one of te freebies tat came with it wa a silouette of a kestrel that was on a tab so you could stick it to a window and it looked like it was hovering, we stuck it on the back window and didnt see a bird in our garden at all then i realised they were scared of it so i moved it and they came back. look for a bird shape to cut out that should work.
ive noticed a ghost mark of feathers on our front window were a birds obvously hit that didnt find a casualty so he/she must have been lucky.
hope ive not missed anyone (if i have sorry ive not meant to)
i hope everyone has a good day (weathers supposed to be better tomorow but pants again on sunday)

Morning all,
:bdaycake: Hooray for the birthday girls!!
I have a young guest staying for a few days! His aunt, who he lives with,is a single mum and pregnant with twins, she had to go to hospital yesterday for a few days and asked me to look after him here. They are friends of DS3 and he's often here playing with Dgk's, tea last night was fishfingers and chips!
Thank goodness for skype and video calls as the lad could speak and see them all in barbados so wont feel so isolated staying with me:D He is a cheerful soul though and it is unexpected company for me, and he calls me grandma :rotfl:so i now have 10 gk
Hissing down here so s&s kitchen and bathrooms ,then make piggy cottage pie for tea, must do a bit of shopping if the rain stops as need some odds and sods, and walking into town should tire him out a bit [yeah right !]
have a lovely [dry] day all,

Happy birthday HJ, Sunnygirl and Hermoine:T:j
Feeling very stressed today already:rolleyes: I feel awful moaning about DS as I love him to bits but God he is hard to be with 24/7:eek:. I wish we had relatives nearby so I could just have an hours peace from the flapping and noises. He gets very stressed when routine changes like not being at school for 6 weeks.
Am going to try to keep him occupied today by sorting what he is taking on our hols tomorrow.
Not cooking today as we are going to Walking with Dinasaurs later(hopefully he will like it), and getting chippy after that.
On a positive note the headaches have eased:T
Have some ironing to do this morning so best get a shuffle on,
I feel like such a grumpy old woman today, hopefully will cheer up later
Enjoy your day Squiggly:T0 -
Sorry - always forget to check the Birthday list -
so.......
:beer::j:j Many Happy Returns:j:j:beer:to

Ruby Basa is a fish from Vietnam. I would rather eat local stuff. But that's my preference. I'm sure you'll be fine.
Dh just rang me on his break. He's going fine & I told him of your best wishes. :rotfl: He said thanks, his feet are killing him. He shouldn't have worn steel caps.
NPM That's a shame. It must be very hard. Glad the headaches have eased.
Snowy It's happening everywhere. I hope something comes up soon.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Kathy I meant to say, hang the cd's on some string on the outside of the conservatory, that way the wind should catch them, and the reflection should put the birds off xx0
