Squiggly - congratulations and have a fantastic day, you certainly deserve to celebrate your degree after all the hard work, well done you! xx

Snowy - sorry to hear about the job, good luck and I hope a new lovely one comes along quickly without too much hassle xx

NPM - enjoy your hol with your folks, and glad to hear your headaches have eased off. Moaning about your ds doesn't make you sound like you love him any less, but all kids are damned hard work, and if they have special needs then you have a whole extra set of things to consider and incorporate into everyday life, you are doing a sterling job. Hope you all enjoy Walking with dinosaurs and your chippy later xx

Well lunch has been cancelled, so will let kids continue with their lie in! dd3 and her mate are up and awake now and have just eaten pancakes, and are now getting bathed together whilst wearing swimsuits! I'm pottering and tapping away on here as I go past! So easily distracted! Best get on with these hobnobs I think!

Ruby I wouldn't touch Basa if you paid me a million dollars. :p Stick to Haddock. . :D
I've had river cobbler as they call it in Tescos loads of times. It looks and tastes exactly the same as smoked haddock and is a lot cheaper and what is more important sustainable. The Marine Stewardship Council advises that sustainable haddock is very hard to find and suggests we try some fish that we may not have thought of before. The Marine Conservation Society has haddock in their "Fish to Avoid" list.

I don't recommend coley tho - we used to give it to the cat and always looked grey in the packet. Sometimes she wouldnt even eat it.

Sorry for the lecture - I just try to be green and planet friendly. Maybe Aussie lass isnt as bothered about this as I am.

When DH got up for work he thought I was asleep & brought me tea in bed, only to find toddler had woken up & got in with me in the meantime, so I had to get up anyway - it was a lovely thought! Not been out yet except to hang washing - 3rd load just done. I'm working my way through all the coats in the hallway & will put away/send to Oxfam/freecycle some so we just have one jacket each & a couple of brollies hanging up.
Making soup for tea, so will try out dad's breadmaker.
Windowcleaner came yesterday, so need to do insides today so they match! :rotfl:
Teenage DS still in bed - how come they can sleep through washers, toddlers shouting, 'phone ringing....? Toddler now says 'lazy bones' when I say his brother's in bed - must say it quite often if he's picked it up! :D
Off to hang current load of washing & stick in some more, then do food stocktake before dinner - crumpets for toddler (current fad!), grilled cheese on toast for me, DH comes home for dinner, too. Got to drop off DS at work, then might take garden rubbish to tip, ironing, then make tea! Back later - hugs & kisses to all.
    A xo

    Morning Guys!
first off Haribo, Sunnygirl and Hermione:bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ALL!

My new fitted bedroom is nearly finished!:TLooks fabulous. Even though it cost a fair bit, it's worth it. I spend a lot of time in my bedroom with this blasted illness, so it'll be good to have it looking nice.

Ex-FIL's funeral is on August 7th. Going to go with DD and fiance. Ex-MIL said she'd like me to be there.

DS re-took his test for Uni yesterday, fingers crossed he's passed this time.:o

OH over later today, must do some housework. Stripped the kitchen yesterday, cleaned everything. Very virtuous now!

Anyway, have a great day all.

Hmmm. Dilemma here....due to visit sis for the W/E, but day before yesterday DH started sneezing, with occasional cough. No temperature, and he is sure it's a summer cold he'd not normally think twice about, but given current climate perhaps we'd best not go. What do you think?????

    Morning peeps

i`ve managed to get online before w*rk for a change :D

i`ve been a busy bee today and i seem to have tons on energy so maybe the diet is working!

I`m on late shift this week so i generally get home around midnight but i keep waking early and i`m no good if i lie in bed awake, i just have to get up. This morning i woke at six thirty and the sun was streaming in through the windows - absolutely glorious so i put a load of washing in which is now blowing on the line and is almost dry, i shall bring it all in before i leave as the forecast says rain later.

The houndies are walked and tea made for DH later and i`ve also made a pizza for him for tomorrow. Just got to sort out the kitchen and hop in the shower and then i`m off to the bad place.

Redruby - fish for tea today for me too, i managed to get a lovely piece of cod fillet which i shall wrap in a foil parcel with some tarragon and butter YUM! can`t wait for tea time :D

Sunnygirl - Hope that you are feeling better, Happy Birthday :bdaycake:

Haribo & Hermione - Happy Birthday to both of you :bdaycake::bdaycake: have fab days :D

Right i need to move my !!! and get the kitchen sorted.

    Have a good day peeps.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
  • Haribo, Hermoine & Sunnygirl - Congratulations hope you all have a wonderful day filled with presents, treats and all goods things!

Tired Mum - thanks for thinking of me and poor old Dad! We went to see him yesterday, but he is terribly confused about where he is and why. The unit seems very nice - light and airy and spacious - and the nurses very pleasant (although rushed off their feet poor things - how I do not envy them their job!). It's early days though, so hopefully he will settle - although he is still determined that he's coming home in a couple of days!

Apart from seeing Dad, which was sad, we had a good day yesterday. Scan #2 went really well and the nurse was delighted about how much LO had grown - it is now on-target size-wise for it's age, and has a lovely strong heartbeat, which was exciting and a great relief in equal measure! The 'shadow' was almost 100% sure twin #2, which started to develop but didn't make it. It was much clearer this week. A little sad, but a great relief to know that it isn't enother ectopic.
We also found a car we really like - a little out of our price-range, but DH will make an offer later today, so we'll see - no harm in asking!

So still not a lot of OS to report - except I made macaroni cheese and bacon last night, which was not on my mealplan but I really fancied it! DH had to put the bacon under the grill for me, as I still can't deal with raw meat - a very odd experience for me as I'm not at all squeamish normally (except when it comes to spiders and similar!).

DSK's are coming tonight/tomorrow morning, so hopefully we will get all 3 together at one time so we can tell them about their new half-sibling! We are planning on telling DH's family on Sunday, as they will be nearly all at his mum's house, but we want the kids to know first. We hope they will be pleased and excited, as they already have a half-sib from their mother's re-marriage (well, prior to actually, but that's a whole other story !) and they are fine about her. The boys may have a hiccough when they eventually find out that they are going to lose their bedroom and have to move into the loft room when they stay with us! - but I have already bought new bedding for them, and TBH the 18yo should be fine, and the 14yo is pretty easy-going - he will probably see it as an opportunity to earn baby-sitting money, as he is that way inclined!

Hope everyone has a great w/e,

    FE

    Afternoon all.

Happy Birthday Haribo, Hermione and Sunnygirl:bdaycake:

    Way to go Mr Bitsy.:j

We had a thunderstorm here a short while ago - very noisy, I was tempted to hide under the table like Redruby's little dog!:D

I have a list of jobs as long as my arm for the weekend - going to try and bribe Mr LW to scrub the loo (he can put more "oomph" behind it than I can) but not sure what I can use for a bribe that's MS. Can't keep on buying him a pint of beer/cider every time.

I made tomato bread yesterday, so we'll use some of that for dins tonight, lightly toasted, with eggs and baked beans. It'll make a change.:o

I have a feeling there's somewhere we're supposed to visit over the weekend, but I don't have a note of it, and I can't for the life of me remember where.

Hope everyone's having a good day; ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.:o
